NewNeedlepoint.com is a labor of love. I began my web store with the idea that I would build the kind of Needlepoint Web Store where I would like to shop.

I love color and I admire good design. My goal is to sell the best Needlepoint Designs, Books and Accessories I can.

I have a extensive selection of wonderful Hand Painted Needlepoint Canvases & Kits by some of today’s fine Needlepoint Designers including Danji Design, Laurel Burch, Eileen Best and many more.

NewNeedlepoint.com has a large collection of Needlepoint & Bargello Needlepoint Books. Most of the books are Hard-To-Find used books, some are quite Rare. Some of the books are maybe not so rare but are classic Needlepoint or Bargello Needlepoint Design or Reference Books.

I have picked out the best condition Books I could find, which is not as easy as you might think.

NewNeedlepoint has two new categories: NEW Needlepoint Books & NEW Bargello Books. These are direct from the publisher or distributor current Needlepoint or Bargello Needlepoint titles by some of today's well-known authors.

There are more to come.

NewNeedlepoint.com specializes in Beginner & Novice Needlepoint Kits and Books. The beginner level Needlepoint Kits are scattered everywhere in my listings as well as having their own category.

The Beginner Books do not…yet…have their own category.

NewNeedlepoint.com has an extensive selection of the excellent Patt & Lee Glicee’ Needlepoint Designs. They are all available as canvas alone plus most are also for sale assembled as a kit.

There is also my small Needlepoint Tools Category. I don’t sell anything I am not familiar with, no Drop Ship here. This is where you will find Mighty Bright lamps, Laying tools, quality Gingher Scissors, DMC or Kreinik Color Cards and more.

NewNeedlepoint.com continues to change as I work to make it as good as it can be. I hope you like what you see.

More Needlepoint From America's Great Quilt Designers by M K Davis & H Giammattei

This is the follow up to their excellent book "Needlepoint from America's Great Quilt Designers". This book is more of the same, in the best possible way. There are wonderful quilt patterns graphed for needlepoint. Most of the pictures, Illustrations and graphs are in B & W but there is a section of color pictures showing each design stitched. I think, maybe, the designs are a bit more complex than in the first book, but that could just be me. At any rate, they are great. More ... More Info

Decorative Needlepoint: Tapestry & Beadwork by Julia Hickman

This is a lovely large & glossy book full of needlepoint projects along with hints how to use beadwork to embellish the designs. To quote the dust jacket blurb " 25 needlepoint projects of original designs including simple repeat patterns, beadwork projects and a range of samplers." "Each of the 25 projects comes complete with an introduction, a detailed materials list, yarn & bead specifications. Simple step-by-step instructions, beautiful color photos of completed projects (with ... More Info

*Gift Quality* Martin Leman's Needlepoint Cats by Martin Leman & Jill Lehman

These are wonderful cats. The Needlepoint Designs are by Jill Leman from paintings by Martin Leman, her father. Jill Leman is an extraordinary needlepointer. There is a close up of one of the stitched cats on the title page. The stitching is Tent Stitch and Basketweave Stitch (which still have their places in the needlepoint world, it is not all decorative stitches...yet). Her stitching is perfect, her tension is perfect. The book has a Before You Start Chapter. Then it goes into ... More Info

Exotic Textiles in Needlepoint by Stella Knight

At first glance I did not know what this book was about, really. The title "Exotic Textiles in Needlepoint" did not make any sense. Then I read the subtitle " Designs from around the world." Hidden behind this misleading title is a wonderful book of "world design" for needlepoint by the well-known needlepoint teacher and author, Stella Knight. The designs are organized by general areas of the world. 5 design from Asia 5 designs from The Middle East 5 design from Europe (3 of the ... More Info

Needleplay & More Needleplay 2 books by Erica Wilson

While I am old enough to have seen it, I do not remember the show Erica on PBS in the 1970s. I have another book by Erica Wilson, Erica Wilson's Needlepoint from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, for sale here that I think is wonderful. So, when I saw these books I ordered them. I was surprised by them. I see them as vanity productions, all Erica, all the time but my Needlework Bibliography does not agree. if you remember the show fondly, you might love these books. To quote from my ... More Info

*Gift Quality* A Show of Hands: Needlepoint Designs by Janet McCaffery

This is a unique needlepoint book. I was amazed when I received it to see what it was. I had no idea what the title meant when I ordered it. Now I know. Every design in this fine needlepoint design book features hands. Hands holding flowers, hands holding bowls of fruit, people with hands. There is a hand holding a rooster in a small wagon, a hand writing with a quill, a hand holding a squirrel on a branch. Every designs features hands. The book is lovely, all of the pictures and ... Needlepoint Samplers by Felicity Lewis

Needlepoint Samplers is an unusual book and quite hard-to-find. Samplers for Needlepoint is not a subject that has been written about much and this book does it very well. Stitched samplers were one of the most popular forms of needlework from the 17th century to the end of the 19th century. Indeed, they are still being stitched today. Most of what you see are Embroidered or Cross Stitch Samplers on cloth. Needlepoint Samplers are rare. The author traces the development of Needlepoint ... More Info

Three Dimensional Needlepoint by Gale Litvak

I really like these "niche" needlepoint books. This book has complete directions, diagrams and graphs to create one of these wonderful 3D needlepoint designs. The dust jacket's inside cover blurb calls this book a"a comprehensive introduction to the realm of Three Dimensional Needlepoint." and I agree. This is the only needlepoint book I list (so far) that calls for plastic canvas but when considered, how else could you do 3D needlepoint. I have never stitched with plastic canvas but I ... Needlepoint From America's Great Quilt Designs by Mary Kay David & Helen Giammattei

I have wanted this book for a long time now. I love American Quilt design and think it is a perfect match with Needlepoint. This book confirms that and more. The book has 50 Quilt Designs charted for needlepoint. The diagrams are large, stitch by stitch and very easy to follow. There is a color picture of each project, stitched and easy to follow instructions. Most of the pictures and the charts are in B & W but I wanted to show you some of the color pictures. They are ... Weaving Designs for Needlepoint by Sally Nicoletti

This unusual book is subtitled: An International Collection. It has 63 needlepoint projects based on woven designs. They are mostly graphic designs and I think they are wonderful (but I love graphic design). It is more of a workbook than a design inspiration book. Sally Nicoletti is an experienced needlepointer and author of other books on needlepoint. Her Japanese Motifs For Needlepoint is also available here MY bibliography gives this book a D for difficulty, which is it's highest ... More Info

Decorative Victorian Needlework by Elizabeth Bradley

The back cover calls this book "the most sumptuous, beautiful book of needlepoint designs ever". I might argue with "most" and "ever" but this is indeed a gorgeous book. The pictures are all full color, even the graphs. The designs are lovely and as always, Elizabeth Bradley's skills as a needleworker and a teacher shine out. Decorative Victorian Needlepoint is bursting with pictures. The stitched projects are shown in wonderful tableaus of objects. The subject is Victorian ... More Info

First Edition Candace Bahouth's Romantic Needlepoint

The subtitle to this handsome books is "20 Needlepoint Designs Inspired by Love". Candace Bahouth is a well-known needlepoint designer. Many of her designs are sold as kits by The Hugh Ehrman Needlepoint Co. These designs are indeed Romantic with a capitol R. The colors are lush and the designs are *soft-edged* and dreamy. The designs in this book are not, mostly, to my taste but that does not mean it is not a wonderful book. There is an exception, a design I really admire on page 113 ... More Info

Needlework Masterpieces from Winterthur by Hollis Greer Minor

Many books use the word "Masterpieces" in their titles, few deserve it. Some do however and this is one of them. This is a collection of excellent needleworks from the Winterthur Musuem. This museum is in Delaware and has the world's finest collection of decorative artefacts (copied that phrase from the dust jacket, love those words). The museum specializes in things made or used between 1640 and 1860 in what is now the United States of America. There are 30 needlepoint projects in ... More Info

The Margaret Boyles Book of NeedleArt

A different sort of book from Margaret Boyles. Most of her books are more Needlepoint or Bargello Needlepoint reference books or workbooks. This book has designs to stitch and they cover a large range of types of needlepoint and stitchery. There are canvas work needlepoint designs, a number of Bargello Needlepoint designs, there are some designs done on linen and some frankly crewel work designs. Of course, all are done with Margaret Boyles' excellent instruction and clear graphs and ... More Info

Needlepoint Designs from Amish Quilts by Laura S. Gilberg & Barbara B. Buchholz

I love Amish quilts, I love the simplicity of the designs and their amazing use of colors and pattern. I have a few authentic Amish quilts that I not only treasure but that I sleep under as well. I think the best way to enjoy them is to use them. I was very excited when I saw the name of this book. I think Amish Quilt patterns would translate into exceptional needlepoint designs. There are 27 designs in this book, drawn from Amish quilts from eastern Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and ... More Info

Your House in Needlepoint by Susan Higgenson

I have become a fan of Susan Higgenson Needlepoint books. I kept her excellent small needlepoint stitch book from my very first order of books. It is comprehensive and the perfect size to slip into a tote bag. I have lost count of how many copies of this book I have sold here, so many that they are getting very hard to get and much more expensive. I apologize for the price increase, it reflects what I am paying for this book, now. The author, an experienced author & needlepoint ... More Info
