NewNeedlepoint.com is a labor of love. I began my web store with the idea that I would build the kind of Needlepoint Web Store where I would like to shop.
I love color and I admire good design. My goal is to sell the best Needlepoint Designs, Books and Accessories I can.
I have a extensive selection of wonderful Hand Painted Needlepoint Canvases & Kits by some of today’s fine Needlepoint Designers including Danji Design, Laurel Burch, Eileen Best and many more.
NewNeedlepoint.com has a large collection of Needlepoint & Bargello Needlepoint Books. Most of the books are Hard-To-Find used books, some are quite Rare. Some of the books are maybe not so rare but are classic Needlepoint or Bargello Needlepoint Design or Reference Books.
I have picked out the best condition Books I could find, which is not as easy as you might think.

The Beginner Books do not…yet…have their own category.
NewNeedlepoint.com has an extensive selection of the excellent Patt & Lee Glicee’ Needlepoint Designs. They are all available as canvas alone plus most are also for sale assembled as a kit.

| I was not going to list this small book, I assumed it was another needlepoint stitch book but I was wrong.
This is a reference book of Needlepoint Patterns. They are 85 patterns you can use as motifs or as repeating patterns or backgrounds. They are very well done, all the pictures are in color, with graphs and complete directions.
There is a large section of Bargello patterns, as well.

| The subtitle for this book is "How To Design Your Own". The authors of this book say on their dust jacket " 2 leading designers analyze patterns and show how to obtain beautiful originals through careful selection of colors and materials".
There are examples of both good design and bad design along with solutions to design problems. Every Bargello Needlepoint pattern is shown in color as well as black & white. What this book lacks is many useable graphs.

| This is not a basic book on Bargello. It is not for beginners. Bargello Plus has unusual ideas and very interesting original designs featuring Bargello stitchery. The Bargello pattern stitches are combined with other "regular" needlepoint stitches to create the overall designs.
The graphs and the instructions are very clear and complete. There is a section of Bargello Patterns and a section on free-form Bargello.

| This is an very much a Bargello Niche book, it is just Bargello Needlepoint Borders, that's all. It contains many of the possible variations, clearly graphed out including the corners. Having the corners fully graphed will become very important to you, once you begin to stitch one of these. Mitred corners are not as easy as you might think (which I found out the hard way).

| This is a beginner level Bargello Needlepoint book, it is rated an A, which is the easiest designation.
The bargello designs are adaptations of Navaho Rugs and early American Quilt patterns. There are 24 designs, with graphs, color photographs, yarn or thread colors used and working instructions. What the book doesn't have is anything telling you how much yarn or thread you need.
But I can remedy that. In general Bargello eats up lots of thread or yarn.

| A different sort of book from Margaret Boyles. Most of her books are more Needlepoint or Bargello Needlepoint reference books or workbooks.
This book has designs to stitch and they cover a large range of types of needlepoint and stitchery. There are canvas work needlepoint designs, a number of Bargello Needlepoint designs, there are some designs done on linen and some frankly crewel work designs.

| This is my 2nd copy of this book, the first one sold fast. Also strangely enough, the dust cover is tattered and the book inside is good. Just like the 1st one. Go figure.
The book is subtitled: Themes and Variations. it has a full chapter on technique and a large assortment of beautiful patterns, all shown in color, with clear graphs on the facing page.
Needlepoint and Patterns has many Bargello Needlepoint patterns as well as Needlepoint.

| This book, from the Batsford Series on Canvas Work, or Needlepoint, is surprisingly unusual. right from the start, this is a book for an more experienced stitcher.
There are unusual techniques and ideas in this book and quite a bit of Bargello as well. There is ribbon work, mixed media needlepoint, etc. There are some design ideas here that are quite "painterly".

| I know I have often mentioned Margaret Boyles many excellent book on Bargello Needlepoint. As far as I know, this is Ms. Boyles only book on regular needlepoint. This is an interesting and very forward thinking book. When it was published, in 1974, few if any other needlepoint books mentioned Decorative Stitching.

| I had no idea what I was going to get when I ordered this book. There is so little information out there about these out-of-print books. I had not heard of this book or this author before.
I was wonderfully surprised when this lovely little book. Although the author calls this book "Florentine Embroidery" it is really a Bargello Needlepoint Book. it is subtitled "All you need to know for perfect results".

| If you have read many of the used book listings here you know I taught myself Needlepoint & Bargello Needlepoint from books. This is the #1 book that taught me to stitch, and stitch correctly, Bargello Needlepoint.
Margaret Boyles is a Master Teacher, her directions are concise and clear. her graphs are in full color and good size you don't have to peer at them with a magnifying glass.

| This is one of my favorite Bargello Needlepoint reference books. I have a few that I refer to constantly and this is one of them. This copy is in very fine condition. It is only kept from being Gift Quality by some numbers/prices written in pencil on the inside back cover and a small tear (which I taped up) on the back of the dust jacket.

| This is the original version of this book, published in 1993 by A. C. Black in London. This is a glassy paperbound book, the first of these I have seen. It is in remarkable condition except for some writing on the inside cover page. I have covered that nicely with my tasteful "NewNeedlepoint" sticker.

| Another great needlepoint book by Sherlee Lantz, the author of A Pageant of Pattern for Needlepoint Canvas. This book is subtitled "From Persian Pavilions to Op Art with One Stitch. Ms Lantz does seem to like the idea of a "pavilions". The book was published by Viking Press in 1978.
This is my 3nd copy of this book for sale here. It does seem to sell fast.

| There are so many things I love about this book. I love the unique idea, the forms and colors used and the author's name "Gigs". On the back over is her picture, she is a good looking blonde. I imagined "Gigs" would have been more unusual looking but you never know, do you?

| This wonderful book is both hard-to-find and rare. Dorothy Kaestner's Bargello Antics features 4 Way Bargello, and Mrs. Kaestner knows her stuff.
Her designs are wonderful, her color use terrific. Every design is shown in full color in the color picture section of the book. * pages of pictures taken by George F. Kaestner, who I assume is her husband.

| Elsa Williams is one of the better known needlework designers. Her designs and products include needlepoint, embroidery, crewel work, cross stitch and more. The needlework products bearing her name are too numerous to mention.
This is Elsa William's Bargello book. It is one of the most important of the early books on Bargello needlepoint. it is another fine Van Nostrand Reinhold book, published in 1967. It is hard cover and has 64 pages.
