NewNeedlepoint.com has been open almost 2 years now. There have been many changes as I find my “spot” in the on-line needlepoint community.
NewNeedlepoint.com specializes in books, both new and used books. The needlepoint and Bargello Needlepoint book categories are extensive. Many of the books here are rare, some are quite rare and all have reviews I have written.
There are pictures of all the books. I find a picture of the cover sometimes tells you more about a book then any review can.
All the used/rare books have pictures of the book cover or dust jacket plus a picture of the inside pages so you can see the condition of the books for yourself.
I know it is a given in the used book market that you keep the dust jacket, no matter the condition but I find many good or very good condition books inside terrible and dirty dust jackets. In that case I remove them, no matter what the market “says”.
NewNeedlepoint.com is currently expanding it’s collection of other Needlework books. Included are Cross-Stitch, Glorafilia, Ribbon Stitching, Embroidery, Punchneedle, Bead Stitching, Whitework, Blackwork, Beginner Needlepoint and more.
I will continue to sell selected needlepoint canvases & kits including the work of Patt & Lee Designs, Laurel Burch and more. The Patt & Lee collection of Scrap Thread canvases are a wonderful way to use your extra yarn and thread stash.
The items in the small tools category is also carefully chosen. I only sell tools I have used myself.

| By "Upright Stitches' Mira means Bargello stitches. There are so few Bargello books out there that I buy the few I can find.
The subtitle for this book is: Exciting Needlework Projects, Patterns and Designs anyone can make.
This small book is full of Bargello Needlepoint patterns, from the basic to the complex. The pictures are mostly B&W, but in very close-up. it is easy to see how these patterns were made and the directions are clear and followable (is that a word?).

| Needlepoint Bargello is another wonderful Bargello and 4-way Bargello Book by Dorothy Kaestner. This book has 25 entirely new 4-Way Bargello Patterns. Each has a chart and a full color picture of the finished piece. The book also includes 32 "regular" Bargello designs as well as something unusual.
Needlepoint Bargello's chapter 7 has 5 Snowflake designs and a paperweight design done in Tent Stitch 4-Way Bargello. I have never seen anything like this in any of my other Bargello books. I ... More Info

Of course, Jo Ippolito Christensen is a very famous name in stitchery, her books are on almost every stitcher's shelves, mine included.
This is pretty much a Beginner's Bargello Book. I explains how to do these really very simple stitches and how to follow the patterns (much harder).

| When I ordered this, I assumed it was a book of varied needlepoint stitches. I was surprised when it arrived. The subtitle for this books is:

There are examples of both good design and bad design along with solutions to design problems. Every Bargello Needlepoint pattern is shown in color as well as black & white. What this book lacks is many useable graphs.

| This is not a basic book on Bargello. It is not for beginners. Bargello Plus has unusual ideas and very interesting original designs featuring Bargello stitchery. The Bargello pattern stitches are combined with other "regular" needlepoint stitches to create the overall designs.
The graphs and the instructions are very clear and complete. There is a section of Bargello Patterns and a section on free-form Bargello.

| Another popular book, getting harder & harder to find in acceptable condition.
This is a beginner level Bargello Needlepoint book, it is rated an A, which is the easiest designation.
The bargello designs are adaptations of Navaho Rugs and early American Quilt patterns. There are 24 designs, with graphs, color photographs, yarn or thread colors used and working instructions. What the book doesn't have is anything telling you how much yarn or thread you need.

| This is another of the Margaret Boyles Bargello books I used to teach myself how to do Bargello Needlepoint. The subtitle is: A Collection of Original Designs and it is but it is also a Bargello reference book. This book is in much better condition than it appears to be, looking at the tattered dust jacket.

| A different sort of book from Margaret Boyles. Most of her books are more Needlepoint or Bargello Needlepoint reference books or workbooks.
This book has designs to stitch and they cover a large range of types of needlepoint and stitchery. There are canvas work needlepoint designs, a number of Bargello Needlepoint designs, there are some designs done on linen and some frankly crewel work designs.

| I have lost count of how many copies of this book I have sold, the first one sold fast. Often, the dust jacket is tattered to scraps, which I bravely tape up. This copy has a not too bad dust jacket. This book, in this condition, is rare.
The book is subtitled: Themes and Variations. it has a full chapter on technique and a large assortment of beautiful patterns, all shown in color, with clear graphs on the facing page.

| I know I have often mentioned Margaret Boyles many excellent book on Bargello Needlepoint. As far as I know, this is Ms. Boyles only book on regular needlepoint. This is an interesting and very forward thinking book. When it was published, in 1974, few if any other needlepoint books mentioned Decorative Stitching.

| If you have read many of the used book listings here you know I taught myself Needlepoint & Bargello Needlepoint from books. This is the #1 book that taught me to stitch, and stitch correctly, Bargello Needlepoint.
Margaret Boyles is a Master Teacher, her directions are concise and clear. her graphs are in full color and good size you don't have to peer at them with a magnifying glass.

| Another great needlepoint book by Sherlee Lantz, the author of A Pageant of Pattern for Needlepoint Canvas. This book is subtitled "From Persian Pavilions to Op Art with One Stitch. Ms Lantz does seem to like the idea of a "pavilions". The book was published by Viking Press in 1978.
This book has become harder & harder to find. I have sold many copies of it here and it is now almost impossible to find one in both good condition and not too expensive.

| There are so many things I love about this book. I love the unique idea, the forms and colors used and the author's name "Gigs". On the back over is her picture, she is a good looking blonde. I imagined "Gigs" would have been more unusual looking but you never know, do you?
This book was published by Charles Scribner's & sons in 1977. I think it may be unique in it's subject. It is not really a rare or hard to find book, but I think it is terrific.

Elsa Williams is one of the better known needlework designers. Her designs and products include needlepoint, embroidery, crewel work, cross stitch and more. The needlework products bearing her name are too numerous to mention.
This is Elsa William's Bargello book. It is one of the most important of the early books on Bargello needlepoint. it is another fine Van Nostrand Reinhold book, published in 1967. It is hard cover and has 64 pages.
