| Another wonderful needlepoint book by B. Bossuck, the author of 97 Alphabets for Needlepoint and co-author of Picture Your Dog in Needlework.
This book surprised me. I was expecting a stitch book but it is not. I should have noticed the title says "Designs" not Stitches.
The book is full of needlepoint (also completely adaptable to cross-stitch) design motifs. There are hundreds of borders, corner treatments and over all graphic design ideas in here, indeed 1001.

| Pulled Work a very interesting book. It will teach you how to do lovely pulled thread work on canvas or linen (or anything). This is something different for most needlepointers (myself included) but the results are spectacular.
The color pictures of these designs all seem to be stitched on needlepoint type canvas.

| This is the third copy of this book I have ordered, it is the only one that has been in any way good enough to sell here. This book is barely in good condition. The official book sellers term for it would be "acceptable". of course, it was sold to me as "good".
I am listing it in this condition because it is an fairly unique book. I know of no other book on the subject of Looped and Knotted stitches. Most books have a page or two about these stitches, if that.

I featured this book in one of my recent blogs. I was showing the very dated (and slightly overwhelming) 1970's decor of their home, which is shown in this otherwise good book on Needlepainting.
The author is chatty but the information is there, her concept of Needlepainting is pretty much what is called *Thread Painting* now but however much I want to make fun of this book, she is indeed a fine designer and stitcher.

| I was amazed when I found this book, I always thought there was a need for just this book but I did not know it existed. it is subtitled "How to Solve Every Kind of Needlework Problem".
Mary Kay Davis is the co-author of America's Great Quilt Designs and More Needlepoint from Americas Great Quilt Designs. Both of those books are listed for sale here (or will be when I do them next, I already sold her Quilt book once).

| I was not going to list this small book, I assumed it was another needlepoint stitch book but I was wrong.
This is a reference book of Needlepoint Patterns. They are 85 patterns you can use as motifs or as repeating patterns or backgrounds. They are very well done, all the pictures are in color, with graphs and complete directions.
There is a large section of Bargello patterns, as well.

| new canvaswork (yes, the title does not have caps on purpose) was published in 2007 in England. There is a wealth of needlepoint techniques, stitches and innovative ideas here. The book is subtitled 'creative techniques in needlepoint".
There is some absolutely incredible stitching here. All the pictures are full color, bright and beautiful.

| This is another of the amazing English needlepoint books. Canvas Work or Canvas Embroidery is the more common name for needlepoint in England. There is often some confusion with the titles of these interesting books in the USA.

| When I began selling books here on NewNeedlepoint.com, this book was in my very first order of books. As I cleaned them up I looked at each book. This one never made it any further then that. It has been on my own needlepoint book bookshelf since then.

| When I bought this used book, sight unseen with no description beyond condition and that is very often untrue, I was not sure what it would be. It could have been graphed designs or just traceable shapes. I suppose I should have known it would just be shapes to trace for embroidery.
And so it is, but I am listing it here anyway. Design books with shapes and designs for fish, marine plants & animals are hard to find and someone may find this book very useful.

| The cover of this book is loaded with information. In the upper right hand corner it says there are 630 stitches, all photographed & with diagrams with 48 of them in color. | I have become a devotee of these excellent books by Mary Rhodes. I consider her to be one of the best of the "Master Teachers" and an authorities on Needlepoint.
This book emphasizes the creative aspects of needlepoint. The chapters on design and color & texture are extraordinary. There are ideas and variations here I have never seen before. Mary Rhodes books are most often for the expert or advanced stitcher and this is not exception.

| The cover to this small handy paperbound book is charming. It is a lady with wonderful salt & pepper gray hair in a blue shell stitch dress standing in front of a wall in the pantry. Each jar is filled with a different stitch in a different color.
This is also one of the designs in the book. While there are 16 design projects in the book, I think the point of this book, for me anyway, is the Combination Stitches.

| The word "Comprehensive" is used often to descibe books that are not really comprehensive but this book is and then some. I would recommend this book to beginners who are serious about learning needlepoint.

| I really like these "niche" needlepoint books. This book has complete directions, diagrams and graphs to create one of these wonderful 3D needlepoint designs.
The dust jacket's inside cover blurb calls this book a"a comprehensive introduction to the realm of Three Dimensional Needlepoint." and I agree.

| This book is an oddity. I thought about not listing it but then I thought I should. This may be the worst Needlepoint Reference book I have ever seen and that is saying something.
The graphs are simplistic and the B & W photos of the stitches stitched are incomprehensible. | At first I thought this was a book of needlepoint designs featuring Walt Disney wonderful characters, it is and it isn't.
The book does feature full size, in varying sizes, patterns to stitch Disney cartoon characters but they idea is you place them in whatever designs or settings you want. The designs the book does offer are basic, at best.

| I had trouble deciding if this was a Design Book or a Reference Book. There are designs to stitch in this book but they are shown more as templates for you to adapt your dog's picture to.
This book by B. Borssuck, who is the author of other a number of other needlepoint & cross-stitch books, like 97 Needlepoint Alphabets book I have listed here and Ann Jackson.

| This is one of the Golden Book Series of craft books. Many of them were very good, informative books and this seems to be one of them.
I had a terrible time getting one of these books in decent condition. The first one I sold here was just OK, barely OK. I bought 2 more that were terrible, unsalable. So bad I did not want to even touch them (ick factor again).

| This is an interesting variation on the usual needlepoint reference book. It does not have a collection of stitches. It does not show interesting or unusual techniques. It is a book of patterns. Exactly as the title says.
There are 78 very interesting patterns in here, some expected and some unusual. Each pattern is shown in a good size full color picture of the stitched result of the patterns with a minimum of 4 repeats of each pattern and usually more.
