| I have this wonderful book back in stock, for immediate delivery (until I sell out again)
Recently, we have seen the publication of several new books, the first in proposed series of Needlework books. After a few years of almost no new books on this/these subject(s), this is great.
Stacey Tombros & Elaine Oliverio, in Association with Little Shop Canvas Company have just published this new stitch book, Stitch: Landscape.
The list of landscape based stitches on the cover of the book ... More Info

| I had no idea what I was going to get when I first ordered this book. There is so little information out there about these out-of-print books. I had not heard of this book or this author before.
I was wonderfully surprised when this lovely little book. The author calls this book "Florentine Embroidery" it is really a Bargello Needlepoint Book. As you might know, the the UK and Europe Bargello is called Florentine Embroidery or Hungarian Point.
The book is subtitled "All you need to ... More Info

| When I saw this canvas at the Baltimore TNNA show, there was no hesitation, I snapped it up. It is a good strong graphic "message" design and the message spoke to me (yes, we buy American cars etc. as much as we can)
This is a hand painted, original design needlepoint.
I don't know the name of this designer, I bought it from Kirk & Hamilton who represent a number of Needlepoint Designers in the U.K.
The design area is 19 X 13.25 inches. The entire canvas measures 23 X 17 inches. It ... More Info

| I live in Lancaster County, PA among many Amish & Mennonite families. When I saw this wonderful hand painted canvas from Danji Design I had to buy it. I am still going back & forth about should I keep it and stitch it myself or not.
This is a lovely part of the country, very rural. The small towns often have great names (Intercourse etc) and the Amish & Mennonite farmers & business people work hard to keep this county nice.
It is a wonderful sight to see a young Amish man standing on ... More Info

| This is another of the new books where I have kept one for myself. My shading skills are non-existant to negative (as in I do worse than you could imagine).
Although this book's title says it is about "Silk Shading" the techniques here are suitable and highly adaptable to Cotton Embroidery, Crewel Work or Needlepoint.
Silk Shading is aimed at beginners but I do not think it is right for "real"beginners. I suggest this book for mid-level to advanced stitchers.
The books begins with ... More Info

| I thought this book was out-of-print, I guess it was for a while. This is a new 2006 re-printing of the original 1993 classic Bargello Pattern book.
I have several used or not new copies of the 1995 A & C Black, London edition of this book for sale here in my rare Bargello Books category including one Gift Quality Edition. I was under the impression that these were the only editions available.
I have compared this 2006 LACIS Publications edition with my British originals and they seem ... More Info

| I usually sell these canvases as kits or the canvas alone but this handsome design uses so many blues it challenged my enormous inventory of colors to come up with the right shades.
I thought, perhaps, I should list this just as a kit. Intdigo Cats is an original, hand painted Laurel Burch design. it is hand signed by Ms. Burch.
The design area measures 11 X 14.25 inches. The entire canvas is 15 X 18 inches. It is 14 mesh.
I have assembled this kit using DMC #5 Perle Cotton Floss ... More Info

| Patt & Lee's Shower Cat has been a very popular design. I sell a Beginner's version of it here on NewNeedlepoint that Patt & I came up with together. This is the original design.
Shower Cat comes with a Stitch Guide by Patt. The stitch guide shows the special stitches Patt has used on her wonderful sample canvas of her design.
The colors used are quite different from the colors on the canvas, I think they are better (don't tell Patt I said this). She also uses some very interesting ... More Info

| This is the American version of Dorothy Phelan's excellent book, Florentine Canvaswork. I can find no difference between them besides the title. Even the thread amounts are still given in both metric and US inches.
I suppose there are some terminology differences. The British (and most Europeans) call Bargello Needlepoint Florentine Canvaswork or Florentine Embroidery.
What follows is the listing from the UK edition:
"This is one of my favorite Bargello Needlepoint reference books. ... More Info

| This is a show-stopper. This is a whole body design of a serious & glowering Samurai warrior in movement. The clothes, his face and the body movement here are done very well. This is clearly the work of a very talented & experienced needlepoint artist.
This is a very big, wonderful needlepoint canvas. it is a hand Painted original design by Sophia. Sophia used to design canvases for Lee Needle Arts, before Mrs Lee retired (Colonial Needle owns them now).
Sophia is now in business for ... More Info
