NewNeedlepoint.com just had it’s 3rd birthday. I am sometimes amazed that we made it this far. I keep making changes and tweaking my web store. I want it to be the best it can be.

NewNeedlepoint.com has 2 sections. There is my extensive collection of New Needlework books. I have expanded the books categories to cover other types of stitching in addition to Needlepoint.

There are knitting & crochet books, embroidery & cross-stitch books, color use & theory books and the catch-all misc. books category.

My Rare/Used Book titles are dictated by the books my customers want and the books that I can get, in reasonable condition. It is getting difficult to find decent, salable old books. Some of the Rare Books are getting quite hard to find.

I have also expanded the Rare/Used books categories to cover other types of Needlework.

I specialize in Bargello Needlepoint books although there aren’t that many of them out there, used or new.

The other side of NewNeedlepoint.com is the Canvases & Kits I sell. I stock mostly hand painted needlepoint designs by some of today’s great Needlepoint Designers. I have a special category for the gorgeous & colorful work of Laurel Burch.

I also have a good collection of Patt & Lee’s superior Glicee’ needlepoint designs including a whole section of Patt’s Scrap Threads collection. The perfect way to use all that extra stash we all have.

I assemble the kits myself, from the threads I love to stitch with. I use Anchor & DMC Perle Cotton Floss in sizes 3, 5 & 8. Also Kreinik Metallic Braid Thread in sizes 12 & 16.

I have a small Needlework Tool collection, all of it things I use and know work well.

I want to thank all my customers for 3 great years, so far. This coming year should be as interesting as the last 3 have been.

I had no idea what I was going to get when I first ordered this book. There is so little information out there about these out-of-print books. I had not heard of this book or this author before.

I was wonderfully surprised when this lovely little book. The author calls this book "Florentine Embroidery" it is really a Bargello Needlepoint Book. As you might know, the the UK and Europe Bargello is called Florentine Embroidery or Hungarian Point.

The book is subtitled "All you need to know for perfect results". I agree.

Since I have begun listing this book, it has become increasingly rare (and it never was easy to find). If you look around, you will see that I am not asking nearly as much as some other rare book sellers. Still, it is a lot of money. I know this, this is the rare book market.

Ms Muller's book is not well known and is rare, it is a welcome addition to the very few great book about Bargello Needlepoint.

I know there is quite a bit of confusion out there about the terms "Bargello Needlepoint" and Florentine Embroidery".

In the strictest sense Florentine Embroidery is Bargello with a differing Stitch count.

Then again, Bargello has traditionally been called Florentine Embroidery due to it's roots in Florence, Italy.

It can be very confusing but I digress.

This is a excellent Bargello Needlepoint Book. There is a blurb inside the front cover which reads
" The complete guide to working Florentine stitches from choosing the right canvas to blocking the finished embroidery with over 30 patterns to embroider".

The pattern graphs are clear and easy to read, most of the pictures of the stitched samples are in color.

This edition of Florentine Embroidery was published in the UK in 1989. The original book was published in Germany in 1986. it is translated by Janet Winslow.

The book is in very good condition. It appears to have hardly been opened. The pages are very good, as is the cover. The edges go the paperbound cover are just a little worn. The book's cover, upper right hand corner, was obviously once bent wrong but it did not real damage.

I have a few copies of this book used, all 4 are in similar condition. I have have some new copies of this book. They are the last the publisher has. He says there will be no more.

I was selling them all as used, with the new ones "like new". Now that I see the prices for the book new, I have separated the listings.

Dorothy Kaestner's wonderful book, 4 Way Bargello. I have a copy of this book myself and have sold so many here I now buy them in multiples, not 1 at a time. Mary Rhodes is a well-known and expert English Needlepoint instructor. I have sold many copies of this Mary Rhodes book here on NewNeedlepoint.com. In fact, I have sold many copies of all Mary Rhodes needlework books. Clearly, I am a fan of Ms. Rhodes books.
