NewNeedlepoint.com just had it’s 3rd birthday. I am sometimes amazed that we made it this far. I keep making changes and tweaking my web store. I want it to be the best it can be.

NewNeedlepoint.com has 2 sections. There is my extensive collection of New Needlework books. I have expanded the books categories to cover other types of stitching in addition to Needlepoint.

There are knitting & crochet books, embroidery & cross-stitch books, color use & theory books and the catch-all misc. books category.

My Rare/Used Book titles are dictated by the books my customers want and the books that I can get, in reasonable condition. It is getting difficult to find decent, salable old books. Some of the Rare Books are getting quite hard to find.

I have also expanded the Rare/Used books categories to cover other types of Needlework.

I specialize in Bargello Needlepoint books although there aren’t that many of them out there, used or new.

The other side of NewNeedlepoint.com is the Canvases & Kits I sell. I stock mostly hand painted needlepoint designs by some of today’s great Needlepoint Designers. I have a special category for the gorgeous & colorful work of Laurel Burch.

I also have a good collection of Patt & Lee’s superior Glicee’ needlepoint designs including a whole section of Patt’s Scrap Threads collection. The perfect way to use all that extra stash we all have.

I assemble the kits myself, from the threads I love to stitch with. I use Anchor & DMC Perle Cotton Floss in sizes 3, 5 & 8. Also Kreinik Metallic Braid Thread in sizes 12 & 16.

I have a small Needlework Tool collection, all of it things I use and know work well.

I want to thank all my customers for 3 great years, so far. This coming year should be as interesting as the last 3 have been.

I think this design is adorable. Trick or Treat is a brand new design from Patt of Patt & Lee Designs. This is an advance copy, this design will not be available in stores until June.

Patt & Lee Design canvases are Glicee Original Design Needlepoint. These are superior needlepoint canvases, the edges and the colors are crisp & clean.

Patt & I are good friends so she sent me Trick or Treat to sell now. That is very nice of her.

There are some surprising details in this 3 cats in their Halloween costumes design. The Devil Cat is holding his trident with his tail and the cowboy cat has one paw tucked into his belt, cowboy style.

Patt has stitched a wonderful sample of this design. I have changed a few (very few) colors in my kit of this design. Further down in this listing I discuss which colors I have changed

The Patt & Lee Designs canvases are Glicee Original Design Needlepoint. These are superior needlepoint canvases, the edges and the colors are crisp & clean.

The design area is 13 X 9 inches. The entire canvas measures 19 X 13 inches. it is 16 mesh.

I know you can't tell from my picture but the background is a pale silver gray, not white or off-white.

I have assembled this kit using DMC #5 Perle Cotton Floss. The bright colors and clean edged stitching will be right for this design. I have made a few small changes to the colors. The handles to the pumpkins, the top of the trident and the belt buckle are done in a darker gray than they gray used for the claws, whiskers & antenna (is that the right word for it? I am not sure).

I have done the background a pale silver gray. I have changed to color of the "bee's" wings from gray to a very pale muted gold. It was all just too much gray. Other than those changes, I have stayed close to the fine colors Patt used.

Patt & Lee Designs have raised their prices, however, since this canvas was in stock and bought at the old price, I will not be raising the price on this.

All NewNeedlepoint canvases have folded and machine hemmed edges or carefully taped canvases edges. I prefer to hem them when there is enough extra canvas to permit it.

Each kit includes the correct size needle for this canvas.

The amounts of floss or yarn shown in the pictures are for color only, the actual amounts sent may vary from what is shown. The colors will not vary.

Needlepoint thread coverage is not an exact science. I try to make sure there is plenty to finish each canvas with some to spare. If you run short e-mail me and I will send you more at no extra cost.

Remember to stitch 2-3 additional rows all around the completed canvas for finishing.
