NewNeedlepoint.com just had it’s 3rd birthday. I am sometimes amazed that we made it this far. I keep making changes and tweaking my web store. I want it to be the best it can be.

NewNeedlepoint.com has 2 sections. There is my extensive collection of New Needlework books. I have expanded the books categories to cover other types of stitching in addition to Needlepoint.

There are knitting & crochet books, embroidery & cross-stitch books, color use & theory books and the catch-all misc. books category.

My Rare/Used Book titles are dictated by the books my customers want and the books that I can get, in reasonable condition. It is getting difficult to find decent, salable old books. Some of the Rare Books are getting quite hard to find.

I have also expanded the Rare/Used books categories to cover other types of Needlework.

I specialize in Bargello Needlepoint books although there aren’t that many of them out there, used or new.

The other side of NewNeedlepoint.com is the Canvases & Kits I sell. I stock mostly hand painted needlepoint designs by some of today’s great Needlepoint Designers. I have a special category for the gorgeous & colorful work of Laurel Burch.

I also have a good collection of Patt & Lee’s superior Glicee’ needlepoint designs including a whole section of Patt’s Scrap Threads collection. The perfect way to use all that extra stash we all have.

I assemble the kits myself, from the threads I love to stitch with. I use Anchor & DMC Perle Cotton Floss in sizes 3, 5 & 8. Also Kreinik Metallic Braid Thread in sizes 12 & 16.

I have a small Needlework Tool collection, all of it things I use and know work well.

I want to thank all my customers for 3 great years, so far. This coming year should be as interesting as the last 3 have been.

I love Amish quilts, I love the simplicity of the designs and their amazing use of colors and pattern. I have a few authentic Amish quilts that I not only treasure but that I sleep under as well. I think the best way to enjoy them is to use them.

I was very excited when I saw the name of this book. I think Amish Quilt patterns would translate into exceptional needlepoint designs.

There are 27 designs in this book, drawn from Amish quilts from eastern Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Kansas.

The colors are terrific. The graphs and directions are complete and comprehensive.

The book has a center section with full color pictures of each design. There is also a short chapter on the history of the Amish & their quilts.

I sell many copies of this book, as soon as I get one, it sells and I have to look for another.

Needlepoint Designs from Amish Quilts is a large hardcover book with 141 pages. it was published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1977.

This book is in very good condition, almost gift quality. The dust jacket is a little creased at the edges and someone has stamped some numbers & the original price on the inside cover page. They should not have, oh well.

The book inside is excellent.

The picture below shows you how the instructions pages are set up as well as the great condition.

Gold and Silver Needlepoint by Maggie Lane

In researching, reading and looking at the titles pages and credits of all the Needlepoint Books I have been listing these last few weeks, several names have come to my attention over & over. One of them is Maggie Lane. She has been thanked, cited as a source, credited with creating stitch charts and cited as a source. There are just a few books out there actually by Maggie Lane however, they are outstanding needlepoint books. This continues to be a popular book. In Gold and Silver ... More Info
