NewNeedlepoint.com just had it’s 3rd birthday. I am sometimes amazed that we made it this far. I keep making changes and tweaking my web store. I want it to be the best it can be.

NewNeedlepoint.com has 2 sections. There is my extensive collection of New Needlework books. I have expanded the books categories to cover other types of stitching in addition to Needlepoint.

There are knitting & crochet books, embroidery & cross-stitch books, color use & theory books and the catch-all misc. books category.

My Rare/Used Book titles are dictated by the books my customers want and the books that I can get, in reasonable condition. It is getting difficult to find decent, salable old books. Some of the Rare Books are getting quite hard to find.

I have also expanded the Rare/Used books categories to cover other types of Needlework.

I specialize in Bargello Needlepoint books although there aren’t that many of them out there, used or new.

The other side of NewNeedlepoint.com is the Canvases & Kits I sell. I stock mostly hand painted needlepoint designs by some of today’s great Needlepoint Designers. I have a special category for the gorgeous & colorful work of Laurel Burch.

I also have a good collection of Patt & Lee’s superior Glicee’ needlepoint designs including a whole section of Patt’s Scrap Threads collection. The perfect way to use all that extra stash we all have.

I assemble the kits myself, from the threads I love to stitch with. I use Anchor & DMC Perle Cotton Floss in sizes 3, 5 & 8. Also Kreinik Metallic Braid Thread in sizes 12 & 16.

I have a small Needlework Tool collection, all of it things I use and know work well.

I want to thank all my customers for 3 great years, so far. This coming year should be as interesting as the last 3 have been.

97 Needlepoint Alphabets by B. Borssuck

Each Alphabet or Number in this book is graphed full size, so the graphs can be easily transferred to your canvas. They are not all one size, the vary in size from as large as 24 threads to as small as 5 threads.

They are organized in order with the smallest in the front of the book, ranging to the largest in the back. The variety of letterings is amazing.

This book is intended for needlepoint but the charts are also perfect for cross-stitch. The book contains many patterns not found in most needlepoint books.

This is another book that is not hard-to-find but very rare in good condition. I have sold one here, ordered 2 others that came in in terrible and unsalable condition. This 4th copy I ordered came in great but that is with one pretty big caveat. Plus, it cost a lot more.

A previous owner wrote in the margins, the upper left hand side, of the pages. In a few cases she made marks on the graphed letter patterns as well.

I have gone through 97 Needlepoint Alphabets page by page. Here is the "count"
8 graphs have marks on them, in most cases they are done in orange so you can easily tell the difference between the stitchers marks and Ms Bossuck's graphs.

6 pages have notes written on the upper right corner of the page. On 2 of these pages the notes go down the whole left side of the page.

So, this is the trade off, this hard-to-get in good condition book with these marks or a terrible condition copy (which you will not find here) with no marks.

IN going through the book, page by pages, my impression that these were creative and wonderful alphabet designs was reinforced.

Trianglepoint by Sherlee Lantz

Another great needlepoint book by Sherlee Lantz, the author of A Pageant of Pattern for Needlepoint Canvas. This book is subtitled "From Persian Pavilions to Op Art with One Stitch. Ms Lantz does seem to like the idea of a "pavilions". The book was published by Viking Press in 1978. This book has become harder & harder to find. American Heirloom Bargello by Millie Hines

Another popular book. Rare and getting harder & harder to find in acceptable condition. This is a beginner level Bargello Needlepoint book, it is rated an A, which is the easiest designation. The bargello designs are adaptations of Navaho Rugs and early American Quilt patterns. There are 24 designs, with graphs, color photographs, yarn or thread colors used and working instructions.
