NewNeedlepoint.com has been open almost 2 years now. There have been many changes as I find my “spot” in the on-line needlepoint community.

NewNeedlepoint.com specializes in books, both new and used books. The needlepoint and Bargello Needlepoint book categories are extensive. Many of the books here are rare, some are quite rare and all have reviews I have written.

There are pictures of all the books. I find a picture of the cover sometimes tells you more about a book then any review can.

All the used/rare books have pictures of the book cover or dust jacket plus a picture of the inside pages so you can see the condition of the books for yourself.

I know it is a given in the used book market that you keep the dust jacket, no matter the condition but I find many good or very good condition books inside terrible and dirty dust jackets. In that case I remove them, no matter what the market “says”.

NewNeedlepoint.com is currently expanding it’s collection of other Needlework books. Included are Cross-Stitch, Glorafilia, Ribbon Stitching, Embroidery, Punchneedle, Bead Stitching, Whitework, Blackwork, Beginner Needlepoint and more.

I will continue to sell selected needlepoint canvases & kits including the work of Patt & Lee Designs, Laurel Burch and more. The Patt & Lee collection of Scrap Thread canvases are a wonderful way to use your extra yarn and thread stash.

The items in the small tools category is also carefully chosen. I only sell tools I have used myself.

NewNeedlepoint.com continues to change while I work to make it as good as it can be. I hope you like what you see.

The official name of this is Needlework On-The-Go Travel Roll.
This clever storage roll is a great help when carting your needlepoint projects in progress around with you.

This is a great gift for any stitcher you know, we all hate untangling threads.

I keep each needlepoint canvas I am working on in a separate Claire Sanchez tote bag (notice how neatly I inserted a plug for the bags?). Inside the bag the floss or the yarn becomes tangled, no matter how carefully I sort, smooth & knot it when I put it away.

This wonderful denim Travel Roll from DMC lets you put your skeins of floss or hanks of wool on tabbed holders, then roll the whole thing up small and tie it closed. This would be handy if I was packing a suitcase to fly (now that they charge for extra baggage).

Needlework On-The-Go Travel Rolls are made by DMC, I guess by this time they know what they're doing. In blue denim, the Travel Roll measures 15.5 inches long. Each roll has 15 fabric holder tabs. Each tab can hold several skeins or hanks of any needlepoint thread or yarn.

The Travel Roll is solidly constructed to withstand wear-and-tear. Rods stitched into the design ensure that the roll will keep it's shape. The rings are well sewn in and the ties are long enough so you can fill the roll and still roll & tie it securely. The Travel Roll comes complete with 15 rings, additional rings can be ordered from DMC.

This is a surprisingly useful booklet to have. I find I refer to it quite often. Sometimes when I am stumped for a color or need to find the perfect companion to the colors I am using, I open this catalog and *follow the numbers* to find the right color. The DMC Color Card includes 6 strand embroidery floss, Pearle Cotton skeins and balls in #3 and #5 size, Light effects, metallic Pearle Cotton, Color Variations Floss, Pearle Cotton Variations and Satin Floss.

Silver Bent Tip Laying Needle
 
I did not know what to expect when I ordered these, there was no picture, no description. Just a name. I was nicely surprised when these arrived. This is a wonderful thread laying tool, perfect in it's simplicity, if you know what I mean. this tool is actually called a " Bent Weaver's Needle" which just goes to show you a great tool always has more than one use. Elsa Williams Bargello: Florentine Canvas Work
 
Elsa Williams is one of the better known needlework designers. Her designs and products include needlepoint, embroidery, crewel work, cross stitch and more. The needlework products bearing her name are too numerous to mention. This is Elsa William's Bargello book. It is one of the most important of the early books on Bargello needlepoint. it is another fine Van Nostrand Reinhold book, published in 1967. It is hard cover and has 64 pages.
