This is a great idea. Patt of Patt and Lee Designs had the idea to design needlepoint canvases to use up the many, many partial skeins of thread, floss or yarn all of us needlepointers always have.
This is the original color combination for this design. Patt has since added a second "colorway" to this wonderful design.
This is the last one I have of this design in these colors.
The Circles needlepoint canvases design area is 10.5 X 9 inches, it is 16 mesh.
It is always risky to use a leftover fiber for a new needlepoint project, you don't know if you have enough and if you buy more, there is always the dye lot issue.
These Scrap Thread needlepoint canvases are a perfect and perfectly beautiful way to use an otherwise wasted resource.
To quote Patt " Get out those skeins and just GO FOR IT. If you see a blue in the design, use the blue you have on hand and so on...."
The Patt and Lee Designs needlepoint canvases are Giclee Original Design Needlepoint. These are superior needlepoint canvases, the edges and the colors are crisp and clean.
I call this Original Design Needlepoint canvas *Circles*. it is a bright, happy design. Do not feel that you have to use the exact colors as shown on the canvas. As Patt says, use what you have. Even the white and black can be a cream, an ecru, a navy, a brown, anything.
The Circles needlepoint canvas measures 14.5 X 12 inches. The design area is 10.5 X 9 inches. it is 16 mesh mono canvas. I suggest stitching this 16 mesh canvas with one strand of #5 DMC thread or 2 strands of Paternayan wool. I am not familiar enough with other sizes of cotton thread or wool to suggest strand amounts. #3 thread is probably too big for this mesh
Needless to say, this is sold as a canvas only, not a kit. This needlepoint canvas can be stitched with cotton, wool, indeed almost any needlepoint fiber you have on hand.
This design is suitable for a beginner. It can be stitched as simply as you like by someone just learning or an experienced stitcher can do all sorts of stitches and embellishments. All sorts of possibilities.
Dry Blocking is recommended when finishing your project. Do not use excessive water.
The canvas includes a correct size needle.
All NewNeedlepoint canvases have folded and machine hemmed or taped edges. Which depends on how much white canvas is left outside the design.
Remember to stitch 2-3 additional lines all around the completed canvas for finishing.

Large needlepoint canvases will be rolled and sent in a mailing tube, smaller canvases will be sent flat in a padded envelope.
