NewNeedlepoint.com is a labor of love. I began my web store with the idea that I would build the kind of Needlepoint Web Store where I would like to shop.

I love color and I admire good design. My goal is to sell the best Needlepoint Designs, Books and Accessories I can.

I have a extensive selection of wonderful Hand Painted Needlepoint Canvases & Kits by some of today’s fine Needlepoint Designers including Danji Design, Laurel Burch, Eileen Best and many more.

NewNeedlepoint.com has a large collection of Needlepoint & Bargello Needlepoint Books. Most of the books are Hard-To-Find used books, some are quite Rare. Some of the books are maybe not so rare but are classic Needlepoint or Bargello Needlepoint Design or Reference Books.

I have picked out the best condition Books I could find, which is not as easy as you might think.

NewNeedlepoint has two new categories: NEW Needlepoint Books & NEW Bargello Books. These are direct from the publisher or distributor current Needlepoint or Bargello Needlepoint titles by some of today's well-known authors.

There are more to come.

NewNeedlepoint.com specializes in Beginner & Novice Needlepoint Kits and Books. The beginner level Needlepoint Kits are scattered everywhere in my listings as well as having their own category.

The Beginner Books do not…yet…have their own category.

NewNeedlepoint.com has an extensive selection of the excellent Patt & Lee Glicee’ Needlepoint Designs. They are all available as canvas alone plus most are also for sale assembled as a kit.

There is also my small Needlepoint Tools Category. I don’t sell anything I am not familiar with, no Drop Ship here. This is where you will find Mighty Bright lamps, Laying tools, quality Gingher Scissors, DMC or Kreinik Color Cards and more.

NewNeedlepoint.com continues to change as I work to make it as good as it can be. I hope you like what you see.

Geometric Designs in Needlepoint by Mary Jaene Edmonds

An unusual book and one I had not heard of before I began searching for these books. It focuses on geometric needlepoint designs, mostly with just one or two colors, occasionally three colors. The designs use stitch and texture to create their effect and they sure do.

This is my 2nd copy of this book, the first one sold very quickly. This copy is signed by Mary Jaene Edmonds in July 1976 to "Lorraine".

It is also signed by Lee Pierce who I am not familiar with.

There are 20 designs in this book, not only are all the pictures in color but so are the graphs, which is wonderful. Mrs Edmonds, who I had not heard of before, is a self-taught needlepointer (like me and many of you) who came up with a "graphed system so simple it can be followed by even a novice". The book's dust jacket says she did this after being disappointed with a "printed needlepoint design she had bought". I think we all know that feeling.

After looking at her interesting designs and her graphs, I agree, these graphs can easily be stitched. They would allow a relative novice (not for an absolutle beginner, however) to work them or give a more advanced stitcher an interesting project.

I don't know how hard-to-find this book is. it is certainly not well-known. The book is in good condition. It is hardcover and the dust jacket is in good condition. As you can see from my picture of the pages, those are good.

What isn't so good is the spine. it is a stitches spine and in a few places you can see the stitching and it *creaks* when you open it. Still, the pages are all there and the spine is holding.

This book is published by Van Norstrand Reinhold, who I am beginning to discover publishes quite a few of the nice books on these subjects, in 1976.

Bargello Antics by Dorothy Kaestner

This wonderful book is both hard-to-find and rare. Dorothy Kaestner's Bargello Antics features 4 Way Bargello, and Mrs. Kaestner knows her stuff. Her designs are wonderful, her color use terrific. Every design is shown in full color in the color picture section of the book. * pages of pictures taken by George F. Kaestner, who I assume is her husband. This is one of the best condition copies of this book I have ever seen. it is hard bound and the book and the dust jacket are just about ... More Info

Texture and Color in Needlepoint by Michele Weal

This is the second book I ever sold on NewNeedlepoint.com. I have no idea why it took me so long to re-order it. Texture and Color in Needlepoint is a handsome book, full of pictures and drawings. It is not a surprise that many of both the pictures and the drawings are in color. It was published in 1975 by Harper & Row in NewYork and in Canada at the same time by Fitzhenry & Whiteside LTD. The author studied painting at the Art Students League and at Sarah Lawrence where she majored in ... More Info

The New York Times Book of Needlepoint by Elaine Slater

The New York Times Book of Needlepoint is one of the classic and I think important basic Needlepoint books. This is the book I learned to do Needlepoint from. it is set up to be easy to use and easy to understand. This book was published by Quadrangle/The New York Times Book Co. on 1973. There are many color pictures in this book and the stitch graphs are done in 2 or 3 colors as well as black & white, which makes them much easier to understand and follow. This is a large book, it ... More Info
