30 Exotic Designs from Persia, India, Korea, China and Japan.
Gay Ann Rogers is the author of several very interesting and hard-to-find Needlepoint books. While this topic, Designs From Asia, is not unique, her designs are unusual. A few of the designs in this book look familiar, most of them are "off the beaten path", needlepoint design wise.
Some time agoI exchanged emails with Mrs. Rogers. She said she would look for copies of her book for me. She believes she still has some hanging around her home.
That would be wonderful, they would most likely be in new or near new condition. I think I will hold my breath (not really)
The graphs are in Black and White, some of the graphing is quite small. There are many color pictures. The chapters are very complete, all the aspects of needlepoint are covered. In the back of the book is a glossary of stitches and an alphabet graphed for stitching.
I have not had this book for sale here in a long time. Every so often I would find a copy and buy it. It was always in horrible condition, unsalable (by me, anyway).
This is a hardcover book, published in London by Robert Hale Ltd. in 1984
This copy of Needlepoint Designs from Asia is in Very Good condition. A former owner has put a light plastic cover on the dust jacket which has preserved it.
The pages are very good, as well.
