I am a fan of B. Borssuck books in general. 3 of my recent articles for Needlepoint Now magazine have been on B.'s books. This is her excellent letters (and numbers, it is very hard to find stitchery books with numbers as well as letters in them). The other big plus here is that this book is designed and charted for needlepoint. Most are embroidery or cross-stitch and have to be slightly adapted for needlepoint.
Each Alphabet or Number in this book is graphed full size, so the graphs can be easily transferred to your canvas. They are not all one size, the vary in size from as large as 24 threads to as small as 5 threads.
They are organized in order with the smallest in the front of the book, ranging to the largest in the back. The variety of letterings is amazing.
This book is intended for needlepoint but the charts are also perfect for cross-stitch. The book contains many patterns not found in most needlepoint books.
I just re-ordered more copies of this book and it has suddenly gone WAY up in price. it was always harder to find in decent condition but now....I apologize for the price increase, it is based on what the copy I am selling costs me.
In paging through the book, my impression that these are creative and wonderful alphabet designs was reinforced.
97 Needlepoint alphabets is a glossy cover paper bound book in surprisingly Very Good condition. The edges of the covers are also very good as are the pages inside. The pages are slightly yellowed by age and the spine is tight. Really, amazing condition for this book.
