NewNeedlepoint.com has been open almost 2 years now. There have been many changes as I find my “spot” in the on-line needlepoint community.
NewNeedlepoint.com specializes in books, both new and used books. The needlepoint and Bargello Needlepoint book categories are extensive. Many of the books here are rare, some are quite rare and all have reviews I have written.
There are pictures of all the books. I find a picture of the cover sometimes tells you more about a book then any review can.
All the used/rare books have pictures of the book cover or dust jacket plus a picture of the inside pages so you can see the condition of the books for yourself.
I know it is a given in the used book market that you keep the dust jacket, no matter the condition but I find many good or very good condition books inside terrible and dirty dust jackets. In that case I remove them, no matter what the market “says”.
NewNeedlepoint.com is currently expanding it’s collection of other Needlework books. Included are Cross-Stitch, Glorafilia, Ribbon Stitching, Embroidery, Punchneedle, Bead Stitching, Whitework, Blackwork, Beginner Needlepoint and more.
I will continue to sell selected needlepoint canvases & kits including the work of Patt & Lee Designs, Laurel Burch and more. The Patt & Lee collection of Scrap Thread canvases are a wonderful way to use your extra yarn and thread stash.
The items in the small tools category is also carefully chosen. I only sell tools I have used myself.

Hand Painted Pink Alphabet Sampler Needlepoint Kit

I like the simplicity and style of this Alphabet Sampler from Mary Margaret Waldock or perhaps I should say from her studio.

Ms Waldock, 76, died in 2007. Her designs, however, are still charming and current.

This canvas is only available as a kit using DMC #5 Perle Cotton Floss.

The letter's fonts are only duplicated for 3 of them, the rest are all one of a kind. There are 4 shades of rose & pink and 2 of purple used. The DMC #5 Perle Cotton Floss for this kit has a slight sheen when stitched. It will be lovely. I picked #746, moonlight white, for the background.

The Reds are a true deep rich red and a lighter shade they call "Christmas Red". I used a medium Raspberry pink and a lighter pink a few shades off. The purple is a true Violet Purple, again with a lighter shade of the same color.

The background color is the same for both the Pink Sampler and the Blue sampler.

The design area is 11.5 X 11.5 inches. The entire canvas measures 15.5 X 15.5 inches. it is 14 mesh.

It can be difficult to do complex decorative stitches around lettering. Unless you are an expert stitcher (which I am not) I suggest you use a plain stitch for the body of the design and maybe a decorative stitch just for the 10 rows of stitching outside the main design area but inside the penciled box.

All NewNeedlepoint canvases have folded and machine hemmed edges or carefully taped canvases edges. I prefer to hem them when there is enough extra canvas to permit it.

Each kit includes the correct size needle for this canvas.

The amounts of floss or yarn shown in the pictures are for color only, the actual amounts sent may vary from what is shown. The colors will not vary.

Needlepoint thread coverage is not an exact science. I try to make sure there is plenty to finish each canvas with some to spare. If you run short e-mail me and I will send you more at no extra cost.

Remember to stitch 2-3 additional rows all around the completed canvas for finishing.
