NewNeedlepoint.com just had it’s 3rd birthday. I am sometimes amazed that we made it this far. I keep making changes and tweaking my web store. I want it to be the best it can be.

NewNeedlepoint.com has 2 sections. There is my extensive collection of New Needlework books. I have expanded the books categories to cover other types of stitching in addition to Needlepoint.

There are knitting & crochet books, embroidery & cross-stitch books, color use & theory books and the catch-all misc. books category.

My Rare/Used Book titles are dictated by the books my customers want and the books that I can get, in reasonable condition. It is getting difficult to find decent, salable old books. Some of the Rare Books are getting quite hard to find.

I have also expanded the Rare/Used books categories to cover other types of Needlework.

I specialize in Bargello Needlepoint books although there aren’t that many of them out there, used or new.

The other side of NewNeedlepoint.com is the Canvases & Kits I sell. I stock mostly hand painted needlepoint designs by some of today’s great Needlepoint Designers. I have a special category for the gorgeous & colorful work of Laurel Burch.

I also have a good collection of Patt & Lee’s superior Glicee’ needlepoint designs including a whole section of Patt’s Scrap Threads collection. The perfect way to use all that extra stash we all have.

I assemble the kits myself, from the threads I love to stitch with. I use Anchor & DMC Perle Cotton Floss in sizes 3, 5 & 8. Also Kreinik Metallic Braid Thread in sizes 12 & 16.

I have a small Needlework Tool collection, all of it things I use and know work well.

I want to thank all my customers for 3 great years, so far. This coming year should be as interesting as the last 3 have been.

As a stitcher, I am partial to spiral bound books. They stay open on the page you want and lay flat. Even better are hard cover books with a spiral binding inside. Bead Embroidery is that kind of book.

The subtitle is : The Complete Guide and it does seem to be that and then some. There are large sections on how to add beads to Needlepoint Stitches, Embroidery Stitches, RibbonWork etc. Then there are sections on Elements for Flowers, BeadWork Stitches, fringe & Edging.

Bead Embroidery has a basics & tools section, 18 pages of Needlepoint stitches with beads, 9 pages of Cross-Stitch & beads, 5 pages of Insertion Stitches with beads, 5 pages of Hardanger Embroidery with beads, 51 pages of Embroidery stitches with beads, 25 pages of BeadWork Stitches.

Sounds complete to me. There are also 20 Needlework and Bead projects. At the end of the book are many wonderful pictures the author calls "The Artists Gallery".

All the pictures are full color and the stitch diagrams are all 2 or 3 color, making them easy to follow.

This is a brand new medium size book. Published by Krause Publications in 2005. It has 255 pages.

Silver Bent Tip Laying Needle

I did not know what to expect when I ordered these, there was no picture, no description. Just a name. I was nicely surprised when these arrived. This is a wonderful thread laying tool, perfect in it's simplicity, if you know what I mean. this tool is actually called a " Bent Weaver's Needle" which just goes to show you a great tool always has more than one use. Volume 2 of Amy Bunger's How'd You Do That? series of needlepoint instructional DVDs. Amy uses actual needlepoint canvases to show you the stitches. This book is a hit. I have sold so many of them I have lost count (of course, I could go look at my purchase receipts but that would be too easy).
