NewNeedlepoint.com just had it’s 3rd birthday. I am sometimes amazed that we made it this far. I keep making changes and tweaking my web store. I want it to be the best it can be.

NewNeedlepoint.com has 2 sections. There is my extensive collection of New Needlework books. I have expanded the books categories to cover other types of stitching in addition to Needlepoint.

There are knitting & crochet books, embroidery & cross-stitch books, color use & theory books and the catch-all misc. books category.

My Rare/Used Book titles are dictated by the books my customers want and the books that I can get, in reasonable condition. It is getting difficult to find decent, salable old books. Some of the Rare Books are getting quite hard to find.

I have also expanded the Rare/Used books categories to cover other types of Needlework.

I specialize in Bargello Needlepoint books although there aren’t that many of them out there, used or new.

The other side of NewNeedlepoint.com is the Canvases & Kits I sell. I stock mostly hand painted needlepoint designs by some of today’s great Needlepoint Designers. I have a special category for the gorgeous & colorful work of Laurel Burch.

I also have a good collection of Patt & Lee’s superior Glicee’ needlepoint designs including a whole section of Patt’s Scrap Threads collection. The perfect way to use all that extra stash we all have.

I assemble the kits myself, from the threads I love to stitch with. I use Anchor & DMC Perle Cotton Floss in sizes 3, 5 & 8. Also Kreinik Metallic Braid Thread in sizes 12 & 16.

I have a small Needlework Tool collection, all of it things I use and know work well.

I want to thank all my customers for 3 great years, so far. This coming year should be as interesting as the last 3 have been.

Laurel Burch Green Swirl Pony Needlepoint Kit

A year or so ago Laurel Burch began designing some wonderful and very colorful needlepoint canvases featuring horses.

The Green Swirl Pony is a companion piece to the Laurel Burch Striped Pony canvas. I have kitted it using the same basic tones/shades that I used in the Striped Pony canvas. The canvas is the same size and shape as the other pony.

The colors used are not all exact matches, Green Swirl Pony is a stand alone piece.

This is an original design, Hand Painted needlepoint canvas, hand signed by Ms Burch.

The design area is 5.5 X 7.75 inches. The entire canvas measures 8.25 X 10.5. It is 18 mesh.

I have assembled this kit using DMC & Anchor #8 size Perle Cotton Floss and Kreinik #12 size Gold Metallic Braid Thread,

The slightly thinner thread sizes are perfect for 18 mesh canvas. Green Swirl Pony should be stitched using 1 strand of floss. Each ball of #8 floss contains 2 skeins of floss.

Since I took the picture of the colors I have changed one color used in this kit. The deep purple has been changed to a muted dark purple, much better I think.

All NewNeedlepoint canvases have folded and machine hemmed edges or carefully taped canvases edges. Which one depends on how much white canvas is left outside the design area.

Each kit includes the correct size needle for this canvas.

The amounts of floss or yarn shown in the pictures are for color only, the actual amounts sent may vary from what is shown. The colors will not vary (at least not very much).

Needlepoint thread coverage is not an exact science. I try to make sure there is plenty to finish each canvas with some to spare. If you run short e-mail me and I will send you more at no extra cost.

Remember to stitch 2-3 additional rows all around the completed canvas for finishing.

Large needlepoint canvases will be rolled and sent in a mailing tube,smaller canvases will be sent flat in a padded envelope.
