I can't say enough in praise of these wonderful Royal School of Needlework Essential Stitch Guides books. I have been waiting for this one for some months now.
Bead Embroidery is not what you think of as *embroidery*. The cover shows a needlepoint piece stitched using beads & varied threads. The RSN, in the UK often refer to needlepoint as Canvas Embroidery. Everything in this book is adaptable to both.
This is a "soup to nuts" guide, beginning with a short history of Bead Embroidery. It takes you from the beginning with materials, fabrics, beads, embellishments, threads, needles, frames & other materials.
One section is Counted Thread work (needlepoint etc.) and includes many stitches. Then Bed Embroidery Stitches followed by Surface Embroidery Stitches.
There is a section on Fringes, as well.
All the pictures & diagrams are in full color. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
A big plus is this book is metal spiral bound inside a hard cover, so the pages lay flat.
First published in the UK by Search Press in 2013. RSN Bead Embroidery has 96 pages and a full index.
