This small Scrap Thread design from Patt of Patt and Lee Designs has several possibilities. It can be a small needlepoint, it can be a squared off 4.5 Christmas Tree Ornament of a round Christmas Tree Ornament. Patt suggests it could be a Tree Topper too.
This colorful canvas includes Patt's own Stitch Guide. She is a wonderful stitcher with a wide knowledge of stitches.
I think this is a great idea. Patt had the idea to design needlepoint canvases to use up the many, many partial skeins of thread, floss or yarn all of us needlepointers always have. Or you can follow Patt's color and thread suggestions in the Stitch Guide.
This handsome star, Design #4, uses 16 colors. it can be stitched with your choice of colors or the colors you have on hand (Scrap Threads or anything, really) or you could stay with (or around) the colors Patt has used.
This is the only one of the 4 Star Design canvases that is not recommended for beginners. The stitches used in Patt's excellent stitch guide are fairly advanced.
You do not need to be an expert stitcher, but some experience is needed for this canvas and stitch guider.
Then again (there is always one of those) a beginner could stitch this design using Plain Stitch or more basic decorative stitches.
Patt and Lee Design canvases are Glicee Original Design Needlepoint. These are superior needlepoint canvases, the edges and the colors are crisp and clean.
The design area is 4.5 X 4.5 inches. The entire canvas is 8 X 8 inches. It is 18 mesh.
This canvas does not include any threads or yarn.

Dry Blocking is recommended when finishing your project. Do not use excessive water.
All NewNeedlepoint canvases have folded and machine hemmed edges or carefully taped canvases edges. Which one depends on how much white canvas is left outside the design area.
Each canvas includes a correct size needle.
Remember to stitch 2-3 additional rows all around the completed canvas for finishing.

smaller canvases will be sent flat in a padded envelope.
