NewNeedlepoint.com just had it’s 3rd birthday. I am sometimes amazed that we made it this far. I keep making changes and tweaking my web store. I want it to be the best it can be.
NewNeedlepoint.com has 2 sections. There is my extensive collection of New Needlework books. I have expanded the books categories to cover other types of stitching in addition to Needlepoint.
There are knitting & crochet books, embroidery & cross-stitch books, color use & theory books and the catch-all misc. books category.
My Rare/Used Book titles are dictated by the books my customers want and the books that I can get, in reasonable condition. It is getting difficult to find decent, salable old books. Some of the Rare Books are getting quite hard to find.
I have also expanded the Rare/Used books categories to cover other types of Needlework.
I specialize in Bargello Needlepoint books although there aren’t that many of them out there, used or new.
The other side of NewNeedlepoint.com is the Canvases & Kits I sell. I stock mostly hand painted needlepoint designs by some of today’s great Needlepoint Designers. I have a special category for the gorgeous & colorful work of Laurel Burch.
I also have a good collection of Patt & Lee’s superior Glicee’
needlepoint designs including a whole section of Patt’s Scrap Threads collection. The perfect way to use all that extra stash we all have.
I assemble the kits myself, from the threads I love to stitch with. I use Anchor & DMC Perle Cotton Floss in sizes 3, 5 & 8. Also Kreinik Metallic Braid Thread in sizes 12 & 16.
I have a small Needlework Tool collection, all of it things I use and know work well.
I want to thank all my customers for 3 great years, so far. This coming year should be as interesting as the last 3 have been.
This is, without doubt, a beautiful showcase book of Bargello Needlepoint. The fact that it has very well done full color graphs, thread and yarn quantities lists and directions is like frosting on this cake.
Ms Petschek has designed a lovely book full of incredible Bargello patterns in wonderful colors. That pretty much covers all the words of this type I know so....
This is not a book that will teach you Bargello Needlepoint but if you already know your way around, you will find 26 ... More Info
I thought this book was out-of-print, I guess it was for a while. This is a new 2006 re-printing of the original 1993 classic Bargello Pattern book.
I have several used or not new copies of the 1995 A & C Black, London edition of this book for sale here in my rare Bargello Books category including one Gift Quality Edition. I was under the impression that these were the only editions available.
I have compared this 2006 LACIS Publications edition with my British originals and they seem ... More Info
I think these books by June McKnight are terrific. She is a great Needlepoint Teacher and her books explain & show you exactly what she intends to, no muss, no fuss.
Still, I have to take exception to her title "The Best Bargello Book". It is, indeed a very good, even a excellent Bargello Book, but the best?
All my carping aside. This is larger then the usual June McKnight books but in the same basic format.
She begins at the beginning, with the canvas, goes to threads, the first ... More Info
I have 2 books by Barbara Snook with very similar names. This book is The Craft of Florentine Embroidery which was published in 1971 and the other is Florentine Embroidery published in 1967. They are different books.
The one I am listing here is 1971's The Craft of Florentine Embroidery. The author, in her introduction says the term "Florentine is used to cover varieties of Florentine Stitch and Hungarian Point." it is also called Flame Stitch or Lightning Patterns etc.
All these ... More Info
