I have not had this book for sale here for a number of years, I can't remember exactly how long it has been.
I am now able to list and sell the excellent books by Ann Strite-Kurz. For a long time they were difficult to find but now I am getting them, brand new, from Ann. I am very happy about this.
Quoting from Ann's web site: "Diaper patterns have been of particular interest to Ann since she chose the topic as her research area for teacher certification in 1980. Her pamphlet titled The Analysis of Diaper Patterns has become a well-respected source for the proper identification of this unique category of allover needlework patterns".
The book includes a CD with full color illustrations. IT shows the same patterns stitched using different color (always interesting and surprising). Examples of both flat and textured stitch patterns.
It also has examples of Original Design Diaper Patterns from 34 featured needle artists, some of them very well-known needlepoint "names".
Diaper Patterns has a chapter on proper identification of the patterns. Also chapters on Designing patterns from varied sources, techniques for developing stitch sequences for composite patterns.
There is a fascinating chapter on Comparisions of Different dominances in Identical Patterns Achieved with Simple Chnages in Color and Value Cntrasts.
Another on the relativity of color and methods to avoid color interaction in Daiper Patterns (that sounds interesting).
The original patterns are shown with complete stitch sequences.
Diaper Patterns has many full color pictures in the etxt as well as easy to read stitch graphs and instructions.
This is an impressive book.
Originally self-published by Ann Strite-Kurz in 2007. This is a brand new glossy cover paperbound book with a plastic spiral binding.
