This book is published in France and in the French language but that does not really effect the designs and information. There is almost no text, in any langauge other then the preface and the 2 page Conseils Techniques which means Examples Of Use.
There are many nature and plant based needlepoint design books, flowers, flora, trees & shrubs, landscape etc. but I know of no other book dedicated to vegetables.
This is an extraordinary book, each desgn has 6 pages. The first page is a stitched example of the design. The next is a threads list giving DMC color numbers and amount needed.
This book is a DMC Ceative World series book, the designs all use DMC threads.
There follows 4 pages of close up full color chart for each vegetable, done in sections. The charts are clear and large enough to be easy to use with color placement and shading very well done.
The chapters are:Carottes (carrots), Chou (cabbage), Oignons (onions), Artichaut (artichoke), Aubergines (eggplant)Tomates (tomatoes), Poivrons (peppers), Citrouille (pumpkin), Brocoli (broccoli).
I am not terribly experienced at counted thread needlepoint but I could esily use this book.
Legumes Au Petit Point is a new, glossy cover hard cover book, it does not come with a dust jacket. Published by Le Temps Apprivoise in Paris, in 2002.
