Maria A. Fritas is the author of several other books; The Art of Dimensional Embroidery and Apples to Zinnias, A Dimensional Embroidery Project Book.
It is important to use her middle initial, A, in any search. There is another Maria Fritas, Maria E. Fritas who seems to be a wonderful cook, judging by the pictures.
This is a single project book (or booklet). It is a border design of gorgeous flowers. The entire design picture wraps around from the front cover to the back. There is no other full picture of this design. Brazilian embroidery is traditionally done with rayon floss.
The book begins with a list of threads used in the design including make, color number and number of strands. Needle sizes used as well as an invitation to use your own colors or threads for this design.
It goes on to give you information on how to handle and use the threads and "additional guidelines". Then stitch sequence and individual stitch instructions in color.
The instructions for stitching this project are flower by flower, in detail. At the end of the book are black and white design templates.
Primavera: The Art of Brazilian Embroidery can be easily adapted to be stitches on needlepoint canvas.
A new glossy cover paperbound booklet published by EdMar in 2005, it has 30 pages
This book is now out of print and seems to have become very rare as both a new and a used book.
