Father B's 21st Century Book of Stitches is now out-of-print. It was the collection of the American Needlepoint Guild's (ANG) Stitch of the Month along with some of Father B's own stitches from 1982 until the last edition in 2000.
This book is a sampler of the best of those stitches, chosen by Beth Howren, a very accomplished and well known needlepoint author.
This small book (the perfect size to carry in your needlepoint tote bag) has 110 easy to read stitch diagrams complete with letters and numbers All stitches have the original names Father B gave them. They are re-drawn and enlarged, the stitches numbered.
The stitch charts are black, white and gray 3 color, easy to read even for a non-graph stitcher like me. There are 2 to a page. The stitches are divided into 3 sections: Stitches, Backgrounds, and Borders.
While it is sad that the entire book, Father B's 21st Century Book of Stitches is now out of print and all but unavailable (crazy high prices for what copies are still around), this book contains many of the best Stitch of the Month from the ANG's Needlepointer's magazine as well as Father B's original design stitches.
Self-published by Suzanne Howren in 2019 this is a matte cover, metal spiral bound book with 63 pages.
