In looking through this wonderful little book, I see that most of these stitches can be, easily, used for needlepoint or cross-stitch. Or indeed for embroidery.
There are 95 stitches in the book
Quoting from the back cover: "This comprehensive illustrated directory of stitches gives the needleworker a wide range of options for traditional or modern embroidery. Each stitch is represented by a colour photograph, clear diagrams and working instructions."
The book includes 10 original designs. A few of the stitches are indeed needlepoint stitches as well. There are many which would suit needlepoint or cross-stitch, or surface embroidery on stitched needlepoint. Of course, embroidery too.
The driections are clear and concise. The full color stitch pictures make what you are doing very easy to see and the black & white stitch examples are free hand, not graphs. The are color pictures of needle placement and how to form the stitch for many of them, as well.
This is a new, small , glossy hard cover book, perfect size for carrying in a tote bag. It was published by A & C Black in London in 1990. It has 112 pages.
The book of Embroidery Stitches did not come with a dust jacket.
