Last time I was able to list this book (which was several years ago) it was 4000 Flower & Plant Motifs. It sold almost immediately and I was not able to find any more copies.
This useful book was revised and published by Batsford, in the UK in 2011 and is now available again.
This time it has 5000 (yes, not a typo..5 thousand) Flower & Plant Motifs with all five thousand images on a free CD that comes with the book.
This is such an unusual book, it is indeed a designers sourcebook for flower & plant drawings to adapt, copy and use in needlework design.
I can't tell you if there are indeed 5000 of them, I have no intention of counting them all but I can tell you this is a big paperbound book that is 1 full inch thick and has 482 pages.
The book provides a range of historical and regional style designs from Medieval through islamic and Japanese to Art Nouveau and Art Deco,
5000 Flower and Plant Motifs has trees, leaves, fruit and fruiting bodies as well as flowers. (yes, this is from the back cover)
Included a detailed index. The images can be copied, enlarged, traced or developed further, all copyright free.
This is brand new book from Batsford, the publishing house for so many of these excellent needlework books. It was first published in 2004 with 4000. This 2011 re-issue has 5000 This is a very useful reference book for needle pointers, embroiderers, cross stitchers, punch needle, and more.
The author's full name, which was too long for my title line is: Graham Leslie McCallum.
