I have recently fallen in love with these gorgeous books on stitching flowers and gardens etc by Diana Lampe. I think there may be more in this series, besides this book and the beautiful book on stitching Pansies I have listed in New Books.
Since I first listed this book it has gone out of print. This is a hardbound used copy of it.
This book is Embroidery From The Garden. It contains 2 amazing garden designs to stitch, each with many flowers. Each flower in the garden is unique. There is a Oval Garland design as well. The flowers mainly used in these designs are flowers Ms. Lampe found on a trip to South Africa (she is from Australia).
Below are the 2 garden designs:
There are other projects and suggestions on how to use these flowers, as well.
There is a 58 page Flower Glossary showing each flower in detail, drawn and stitched. Each has a threads used list, a strands & stitches list and complete directions. 1 flower to a page.
There is a 10 page Stitch Glossary with the stitches line drawn and easy to follow.
This fine book has a materials & equipment list, working notes, a section on finishing and framing and a full index.
Each of the stitches and flowers shown can be easily adapted to Needlepoint.
As I said, I am impressed with this book and look forward to finding more of this author's very good stitching books.
Published by The Sally Milner Craft Series of books, Australia, in 1997. . Embroidery From The Garden is a hardcover book with 116 pages.
The pictures above are from the new book. The picture below is from the current used book I have for sale. The cover picture is current as well.
This book is in excellent condition, I would recommend it as "gift quality". It has become a rare book
