There used to be a couple of very good Tassel Making books currently in publication. Both have been discontinued (go figure).
I recently tried ordering what I thought was a Tassell making book but it turned out to be a decorating book, with emphasis on using tassels on curtain tie backs & pillows. Not what I wanted for my needlepoint store.
Then, just by chance, I found the out-of-print book. It may be the best Tassel book ever. It has suggestions, instructions, all the usual stuff.
It also has something unbique. It has tassel patterns, each page is divided into 2 sections and you can mix and match. You can use a top # 9, with middle #19 and bottom # 11.
The book has clear and easy to follow instruction, great ideas and lots of color pictures but I think the almoast erndless design possibilities with these split templates makes the book.
A Bathdowne Book first published by Allen & Unwin in Australia,1994. This is the paperbound edition published in 1996 and re-printed in 1997.
The Art of Tassel Making is a large glossy paperbound book with 140 pages.
The book is in good condtion. The paper cover is worn at the edges and at the top & bottom of the spine (which I have taped to prevent further damage). The book inside is Very Good.
