Jane Zimmerman's books very detailed. This book is not intended fir a novice or inexperienced stitcher. This is written on the front cover: "This comprehensive authoritative manual, with over 320 stitch pattern variations, explores all facets of silk and metal thread embroidery of the past suitable for use in present day canvas work. Although she uses the word "embroidery" this is a needlepoint book. Of course, needlepoint is often called "canvas embroidery"

The Appendix A is The Parquet Sampler and Appendix B is the Jack-In-The-Box Sampler.
This is interesting, I had not seen a biography of Jane D. Zimmerman before. Her quaslifactions are impressive. She was certified in silkd and metal thread embroidery by The Embroiders Guild of America in 1978. Awarded the title of Professional Fellow by The American Needlepoint Guild in 1988.
Ms. Zimmerman has been teaching al over the country since 1976. nShe wrote the Silk and Metal Embroidery Craftsman Program for the EGA and was it's chairman for 13 years.
I believe some of her books are still being published new. I am currently looking into 1getting some.
Each of the pattern graphs is clear and understandable. They are each unusually large at 4.25 X 3.5 inches each.
I am always impressed by Jane Zimmerman's books.
This is a matte cover, self-published 1995 paperbound book with a plastic spiral binding. It is in excellent, almost new condition.
This is a rare book.
I know the price of this book is high. I price these rare books based on what it costs me to buy them for re-sale.
