Subtitled: All the Stitches and Techniques of Silk Ribbon Work and Embroidery.
There are several fine beginner's books for Silk Ribbon stitching in my new books category but none of them is quite this basic. The book calls it's self a Primer and so it is. You do not need any previous stitching experience to use this book.
That does not mean it is simplistic but it does mean it is accessible to everyone. This would be a good book to start a young stitcher interested in Ribbonwork.
To quote (and paraphrase, I always find I want to change it a little) from the back cover
"Ribbon Work from A-Z. A complete primer of techniques and stitches, this vibrant all color collection includes a sampler for each Letter of the Alphabet. The Letters are decorated with the flowers that begin with that letter."
There are color pattern and stitch placement instructions for each. The directions are very complete. Even the illustrations are in full color. A very useful beginner's book.
Published by Sterling Publishing in 1995. Ribbon Badics is a glossy cover hard cover book with 160 pages.
There is not and as far as I know, never was a dust jacket with this book, the hard cover is glossy and colorful. This book is in Very Good condition. The corners are a bit worn but otherwise it is excellent. The spine is tight.
