I am a huge fan of the ribbonwork books by Yukiko Ogura. They are published in Japan, the copies I sell (both new & used) are all translated into English.
This is a rare book, there are not that many copies of this around. I found one used copy of this, in Japanese, selling for $287.00.
The book begins with staged, full color pictures of each project. They are impressive.
The pictures, diagrams and instructive pictures are all in fgull color, only the templates are in black and white. The ribbon used are specified but I doubt you could find them here in the USA. (then again, you never know).
Ribbon Embroidery is set up in 2 sections. Section 1 has Wild Roses, Tulips, Asters-1, Asters-2, Cornflowers, Violets, Mimosa, Hydrangeas, Cosmos, Narcissi (daffodils), Crocuses, Roses. Each flower has a 2 pages showing the finished peice and details on the stitches, in color.
Section 2 is very detailed & specidic directions for astitching each flower, in black and white. There are finishing directions, as well.
Near the back is a section of ribbon embroidery basics as well as basic stitches used.
Published by Nihon Vogue-Sha in 1995, this is a glossy cover paperbound book with 88 pages.
Ribbon Embroidery is in very good condition. White cover paperbound books oiften do not age well but this one is really very good, no discoloration at all.The very top right hand corner of the book and cover looks like it was once wet, it dried a little wrinkled but otherwise, there is no damage. The spine is tight.
