Patt calls these excellent cats "Kittens", as far as I am concerned they are cats. Their smiles remind me of the Mona Lisa. Raymond Crawford LOVE Hand Painted Needlepoint Kit

My supplier tells me this is a Hand Painted Raymond Crawford Design Needlepoint Canvas. It is clearly Hand painted and Stitch Painted but it is not signed however it does look like a Crawford design to me so..... At any rate, this is a wonderful small design using an amazing 17 colors including Kreinik Metallic White for the letters. The design area is 5.5 X 5.75 inches, it is 18 mesh. Given the small areas for each color, I would think that a basic needlepoint stitch is called for here, but the red border would benefit from a small decorative stitch, perhaps Mosiac Stitch? I have assembled this kit using DMC #8 Perle Cotton floss, Stitching on 18 mesh with #8 Perle Cotton is wonderful, the stitching is smooth and it rarely knots up. This needlepoint canvas should be stitched using one strand of floss. Each ball of #8 Perle Cotton is equal to 2 skeins so you will lots left over. This is one of the prettiest Needlepoint Canvases I have seen, it would be spectacular framed when it is stitched. I thought the shimmer of the metallic thread along with the slight sheen of Perle Cotton Floss will make this design "shine" The Stitch Guide uses 5 colors, alone or in combinations plus I have specified Kreinik Black Metallic Braid Thread for the Kanji. Hand Painted Tulips Needlepoint Canvas

This is a wonderful needlepoint canvas, it is all tulips. It is obviously handpainted & stitch painted but I have no idea by who. This design does look like a similar canvas by Danji Design but it is not signed. The design area is 12.75 X13.25 inches, it is 14 mesh. There is one issue with this canvas I want to mention. Who ever cut this canvas did not leave quite enough blank canvas around the edge of the design area. When I folded over & stitched the raw edges of this canvas, I made the folds as small as possible still.... The left side of the canvas has 2.25 inches of blank canvas, that is plenty. The right side has a bit under 2 inches, that too is enough. The bottom has 1.25 inches of canvas & the top has not quite an inch. I am pretty sure this will be enough for the stitched canvas to be finished but I would not stitch the extra 2-3 rows outside the border, for finishing, on the bottom & top. I do wish everyone would take care to leave enough canvas outside the design. The price of this canvas reflects the issue with the amount of canvas outside the design. The Tulips needlepoint canvas has 19 whole tulips and 11 partial tulips. I estimate 29 skeins of floss to stitch this but that might be too much. The Tulips needlepoint canvas measures 17 (wide) X 15.25 inches. The design area is 12.75 (wide) X 13.25 inches. it is 14 mesh mono canvas. There is a partial line border drawn on part of the canvas, do not stitch it as a border. This canvas does not include any threads or yarn. There are an amazing 16 colors in this small, beautiful Shells needlepoint canvas by Danji Designs, It is carefully hand painted and the color use is just wonderful. The design area is 6 X 5.5 inches. The entire canvas measures 9.25 X 9.75 inches, it is 18 mesh. There is quite a bit of shading used in this design, the colors flow into each other. There is probably enough extra canvas outside the design area to add a small border, perhaps a few rows of Gobelin Stitch in some of the colors. The kit has plenty of extra floss do do this, if you like. I have assembled this kit using Anchor & DMC #8 Perle Cotton Floss. The sheen from the stitched floss plus the crisp exact edges are just what this design wants. If you haven't stitched 18 mesh canvas with #8 floss yet you are in for a pleasant surprise. It stitches easily with little knotting. I know this is quite a bit of thread for such a small canvas, but it uses all these colors and #8 floss only comes in double skein balls. You will have a lot extra. I have made on small color change for this design. For the brown shell at the lower right I have used Copper Color Kreinik #12 Metallic Braid thread for the lighter red/brown areas of the shell. I think it will be wonderful. I have also included a spool of Blue #16 Kreinik Metallic thread (not shown) with the kit in case you would like to stitch the top shell's blue lines with it, your choice. Gone Fishing Hand Painted Needlepoint Kit

This is a showstopper Needlepoint Design. it is a large canvas, the design area is 19 inches wide by 12 inches tall. My husband, the fisherman fanatic, tells me this fish is a bass and it is the "most fished" fish in the country. He assures me that anybody who fishes would love this canvas, he loves this canvas. So do I. Gone Fishing is designed and beautifully hand painted by Eileen Best. As I buy and list more of her work she is becoming one of my favorite designers. The entire canvas measures 24 X 16 inches, it is 18 mesh. This design uses 18 colors, although there is quite a bit of detail on the fish's body, it is not an overwhelming and difficult to stitch design. I had originally assembled this kit using Paternayan Yarn and while the colors and the look of the Wool for this design were great I was troubled with the idea of using Paternayan on 18 mesh canvas. This canvas should bve stitched using 1 strand of floss. I did not have enough colors in my #8 Perle Cotton Floss for this design yet so I de-listed the kit and ordered more colors. I have then now and I think this is going to be a wonderful canvas, when stitched. Anchor & DMC #8 Perle Cotton Floss is a joy to stitch with on 18 mesh. I seem to have left the turquoise & the black floss out of the picture. They are included in the kit. Each ball of the #8 is a double skein so you have enough floss to stitch this either way. I have also included in spool of Kreinik Silver Metallic braid for the fish hooks. I think that will be a great touch. I recommend using a few different decorative stitches on the brown border and blue background of this design. While I am not doing a complete stitch guide, I will include a partial one with ideas for possible stitches you can use in those areas. I have chosen and graphed 2 possible stitches for the blue background behind the fish and 1 for the brown background area. There are 22 colors in this design. This is a surprising needlepoint canvas. It looks simple enough until you look closely. Then you see there are many, many colors in this design and it will need quite a bit of shading when stitched. The design area is a 5 inch circle, it is 14 mesh. The needlepoint supplier who sold me this canvas told me it was a Susan Treglown Designs canvas, The canvas is not signed but it does have the number AW-1060 written on it. This small design uses 17 colors. I think when stitched this will be a gorgeous ornament, glowing with color. This canvas does not include any threads or yarn. As I have said, the design uses 17 colors including 2 roll of pricey Kreinik Gold Metallic thread. Gingerbread Man Christmas Tree Ornament Kit

This Gingerbread Man Christmas Tree Ornament is adorable. From the pom pom on his hat to the sparkling snow, this is a wonderful holiday design. This ornament is hand painted by Laurie Korsgaden Designs. There are pine trees, snow falling, a dark gray sky, his hat and pom pom, scarf and candy cane. When I first saw this canvas, I thought his pom pom was the moon and that it had been badly shaped. Later I realized what it was. There are a lot of details in this small needlepoint canvas. Although it is a small design, I do not think it is really suitable for a beginner. In my mind's eye, I see the falling snow done as French Knot stitches and many other decorative stitches used in this design. The design area is 5 inches and the entire canvas measures 9.25 X 9.25 inches. it is 18 mesh. I have assembled this kit using Anchor & DMC #8 Perle Cotton Floss plus Kreinik #12 Metallic Braid thread. I think the sparkling snow on the ground will be wonderful stitched using the White Metallic and his little button eyes need some black Metallic. The snow falling should not be stitched with the Kreinik Metallic, especially if you are going to stitch it with the French Knot Stitch. It is much easier to stitch 18 mesh canvas with #8 size floss. There will be little or no thread knotting and no tugging needed, making your stitches much easier. The #8 floss and the #12 Metallic should both be stitched using a single strand. I changed the colors in this design slightly. The sky was a dark blue/gray, not a warm color at all. I used a muted medium periwinjke blue for the sky. The effect will be lovely. I have included 2 balls so you are sure to have enough for the extra rows outside the design as well. There is plenty of floss included, #8 floss only comes in double skein size balls.
