Beginner's Hand Painted iris Needlepoint Kit

Another in my series of needlepoint kits for beginners. This pretty hand painted iris design needlepoint canvas is from Danji Designs. I think it is beautiful, for beginners or not, the colors are lovely. This is a small needlepoint canvas, the design area is 6 X 6 inches. The entire canvas measures 10 X 10 inches and is easy to stitch 13 mesh. I have assembled this kit using DMC #5 Perle cotton floss, it stitches up with crisp clean edges and a slight sheen, it will be lovely for this Iris. I have used a soft creamy off-white for the background. The contrast with the rich purples & greens will be lovely. I have including Kreinik Metallic Braid Thread in both yellow & white for the center of the flowers. This is add a small sparkle to the stitched design. Beginner's Iris should be stitched using 1 strand of floss or thread. This needlepoint kit is suitable for beginners. A color placement guide comes with it as well as my pretty good basic needlepoint instruction booklet. Experienced stitchers should feel free to ignore me. All NewNeedlepoint canvases have folded and machine hemmed edges or carefully taped canvases edges. Which one depends on how much white canvas is left outside the design area. Each kit includes the correct size needle for this canvas. The amounts of floss or yarn shown in the pictures are for color only, the actual amounts sent may vary from what is shown. The colors will not vary. Needlepoint thread coverage is not an exact science. I try to make sure there is plenty to finish each canvas with some to spare. If you run short e-mail me and I will send you more at no extra cost. Remember to stitch 2-3 additional rows all around the completed canvas for finishing. Scrap Threads Fans Needlepoint Canvas

The whole point to the scrap threads idea is to use what you have in your stash. These designs are the perfect way to recycle all the many left over skeins, hanks, cards and whatever you have left over from your needlepoint projects. Use what ever you have, if it looks right to you it is right. 16 mesh canvas is adaptable, you can use doubled embroidery floss, #8 cotton, #5 size cotton, wool, silk, the list is endless. This Scrap Threads design is something of a departure for Patt. Usually the designs are color-rich, this one is softer, more pastels. Of course, it being a Scrap Threads canvas you can use any colors you want or have or stay with (or near to) Patt's colors. Patt & Lee Design canvases are Glicee Original Design Needlepoint. These are superior needlepoint canvases, the edges and the colors are crisp & clean. The design area is 8.5 X 8.5. The entire canvas measures 13 X 13 inches. It is 16 mesh. This canvas does not include any threads or yarn. This canvas is suitable for beginner stitchers. It could be stitched all in simple plain stitch for someone just starting out. Scrap Thread Circles #2 Needlepoint Canvas

This is a great idea. Patt of Patt and Lee Designs had the idea to design needlepoint canvases to use up the many, many partial skeins of thread, floss or yarn all of us needlepointers always have. Patt has added this second "colorway" to this wonderful design. It is a different mix of colors with a bit more green in it. The Circles needlepoint canvases design area is 10.5 X 9 inches, it is 16 mesh. It is always risky to use a leftover fiber for a new needlepoint project, you don't know if you have enough and if you buy more, there is always the dye lot issue. These Scrap Thread needlepoint canvases are a perfect and perfectly beautiful way to use an otherwise wasted resource. To quote Patt " Get out those skeins and just GO FOR IT. If you see a blue in the design, use the blue you have on hand and so on...." The Patt & Lee Designs needlepoint canvases are Giclee Original Design Needlepoint. These are superior needlepoint canvases, the edges and the colors are crisp & clean. I call this Original Design Needlepoint canvas *Circles*. it is a bright, happy design. Do not feel that you have to use the exact colors as shown on the canvas. As Patt says, use what you have. Even the white and black can be a cream, an ecru, a navy, a brown, anything. Beginners It's Always Something Needlepoint Kit

I am excited about these Beginner Needlepoint Designs Patt and I have been working on. This is the first of them and I think it is wonderful. We started with one of her excellent designs, the Shower Cat and simplified it, took out most of the exacting and difficult to stitch detail, to make this perfect for a novice needlepointer. Of course, an experienced stitcher can easily add their own details, and customize this. The design area is 7 X 8.25 inches. The entire canvas is 13 X 11 inches, it is 16 mesh. We both thought that adding the text was the thing to do. We though the cat's startled expression perfectly illustrated it. The Patt & Lee Designs needlepoint canvases are Glicee Original Design Needlepoint. These are superior needlepoint canvases, the edges and the colors are crisp & clean. This canvas is an easy way for a beginner to learn to stitch. The canvas is adorable, which always makes stitching easier, for some reason. I would not recommend it for an absolute beginner. For them one of my small very beginner beginner's needlepoint canvases would probably be better but for a second or third project, this is perfect.
