Scrap Threads Stripe Cats Needlepoint Canvas

I love this design. This is one of Patt & Lee's most popular designs and it is easy to see why. This is a Scrap Threads Design. It is designed to be stitched with whatever you have in your threads stash. Any thread, yarn, floss or anything stitchable can and should be used. It is not necessary to follow the exact colors used for this design. In fact, this is the perfect way to "recycle" the many end skeins, hanks, cards and all the misc. stuff you have sitting around waiting to be used or used up. The design area is 11.75 X 8.75 inches. The entire canvas measures 16 X 13 inches. It is 18 mesh. This is the second version of this design. It is changed by the addition of a white single stitch surround for the Cats. I was surprised by how much this small change affected the design. It seems to have brightened all the colors on the Cats. The picture below is stitched by Patt, she uses 63 different stitches. Patt & Lee Design canvases are Glicee Original Design Needlepoint. These are superior needlepoint canvases, the edges and the colors are crisp & clean. This canvas does not include any threads or yarn. Although Patt & Lee Designs have raised their prices for most of their designs, the price on this canvas has stayed the same. Star or Star Ornament Scrap Threads Needlepoint Canvas with Stitch Guide

This small Scrap Thread design from Patt of Patt & Lee Designs has several possibilities. It can be a small needlepoint, it can be a squared off 4.5 Christmas Tree Ornament of a round Christmas Tree Ornament. Patt suggests it could be a Tree Topper too. I think this is a great idea. Patt had the idea to design needlepoint canvases to use up the many, many partial skeins of thread, floss or yarn all of us needlepointers always have. This handsome star uses 12 colors ( or maybe 15 I am still not sure). it can be stitched with your choice or colors or the colors you have on hand or you could stay near the colors Patt has used. Patt & Lee Design canvases are Glicee Original Design Needlepoint. These are superior needlepoint canvases, the edges and the colors are crisp & clean. The design area for this Star is 4.5 X 4.5 inches. You can't see it from my picture but there is a gray square background to fill in around the star to make it a square. It can be tricky to use leftovers on a new project, you never know if you have enough. These designs are meant to be stitched with what you have. I suppose this is Needlepoint recycling. You can use the colors as Patt has done them or change them, adapt them to what you have or what you want to use. To quote Patt " Get out those skeins and just GO FOR IT. Patt has added this second "colorway" to this wonderful design. It is a different mix of colors with a bit more green in it. The Circles needlepoint canvases design area is 10.5 X 9 inches, it is 16 mesh. It is always risky to use a leftover fiber for a new needlepoint project, you don't know if you have enough and if you buy more, there is always the dye lot issue. These Scrap Thread needlepoint canvases are a perfect and perfectly beautiful way to use an otherwise wasted resource. To quote Patt " Get out those skeins and just GO FOR IT. If you see a blue in the design, use the blue you have on hand and so on...." The Patt & Lee Designs needlepoint canvases are Giclee Original Design Needlepoint. I suggest stitching this 16 mesh canvas with one strand of #5 DMC thread or 2 strands of Paternayan wool. I am not familiar enough with other sizes of cotton thread or wool to suggest strand amounts. #3 thread is probably too big for this mesh Needless to say, this is sold as a canvas only, not a kit. This needlepoint canvas can be stitched with cotton, wool, indeed almost any needlepoint fiber you have on hand. 15 Dogs in 15 Colors Scrap Thread Needlepoint Canvas

The moment I saw Patt' Scrap Thread design I know I wanted to call it 15 Dogs 15 Colors. This is a slightly smaller Scrap Thread canvas than usual. The design area measures 7 X 7 inches. The entire canvas is 12 X 12 inches. it is 16 mesh, which has become my favorite mesh size. Not too small, not too big. This is design is now discontinued, but I still have a few of them. Patt & Lee Design canvases are Glicee Original Design Needlepoint. These are superior needlepoint canvases, the edges and the colors are crisp & clean. This is a new design from Patt & Lee, it will not be available in stores until June but Patt got it to me early. I guess I am previewing it and glad to do it. I got lost trying to count all the colors used in this design. I do know that each dog is a different color. This is a perfect way to use up your stash/piles/baskets & bins of extra threads. I am not sure if I should call this the "companion canvas" to Patt & Lee's wonderful 15 Dogs in 15 Colors canvas, which is also listed here, or call it the Cat Lover's Version.
