In researching, reading and looking at the titles pages and credits of all the Needlepoint Books I have been listing these last few weeks, several names have come to my attention over and over.
One of them is Maggie Lane. She has been thanked, cited as a source, credited with creating stitch charts and cited as a source.
There are just a few books out there actually by Maggie Lane however, they are outstanding needlepoint books. This continues to be a popular book.
Despite the existence of several recently published books on Gold and Silver stitching, I keep getting requests for this fine book. I am glad it is back in stock again.
In Gold and Silver Needlepoint Ms. Lane has charted and described 12 brand new designs based on Oriental Motifs and art works that are enhanced with either gold or silver metalic thread.
These threads are used in every design, alone of mixed with silk or cotton floss. There are designs for 2 Evening Bags, 7 Panels and 3 Scrolls.
This book is hard-to-find in good condition. This copy is indeed Very Good. The dust jacket is tattered but I taped it all up to prevent further damage.
The pages insides are Very Good. They are somewhat yellowed by age. The spine is tight.
This is a large hardcover book, published by Charles Scribner's Son in 1983.
It does have some full color pictures.
