This book, from the Batsford Series on Canvas Work, or Needlepoint, is surprisingly unusual. right from the start, this is a book for an more experienced stitcher.
There are unusual techniques and ideas in this book and quite a bit of Bargello as well. There is ribbon work, mixed media needlepoint, etc. There are some design ideas here that are quite "painterly".
It is not a stitch reference, it is an idea and inspiration book and inspired is the word for it. I did not know anything about this book when I ordered it, I am glad I did.
The cover is somewhat worn at the edges but the inside is perfect, I don't think it has been opened much, the spine is very tight and the pages unmarked.
Working on Canvas has become harder to get and of course, more expensive in the last few years.
Working on Canvas is another great Batsford Ltd of London book, published in 1990. It does not have and never did have a dust jacket. It has 96 pages.
This is a former library book from the Denver Public Library. it is in very good condition, for a library book or any out-of-print book. There are a few library stickers on the inside front cover and a spine sticker, otherwise it is unmarked.
