I love Amish quilts, I love the simplicity of the designs and their amazing use of colors and pattern. I have a few authentic Amish quilts that I not only treasure but that I sleep under as well. I think the best way to enjoy them is to use them.
I was very excited when I saw the name of this book. I think Amish Quilt patterns would translate into exceptional needlepoint designs.
There are 27 designs in this book, drawn from Amish quilts from eastern Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Kansas.
The colors are terrific. The graphs and directions are complete and comprehensive.
The book has a center section with full color pictures of each design. There is also a short chapter on the history of the Amish & their quilts.
I sell many copies of this book, as soon as I get one, it sells and I have to look for another.
Needlepoint Designs from Amish Quilts is a large hardcover book with 141 pages. it was published by Charles Scribner's Sons in 1977.
This book is in very good condition. The white parts of the dust jacket have turned brown, with age. This is very common and it is not anything really wrong, this often happens on older books with white covers.
The book inside is very good. I wiull update the cover photo as soon as I can.
