This edition is from the First Printing of this fine book
Although the subtitle of this book is Stitches and Designs it is much more of a needlepoint reference and stitches book than it is a design book. There are some interesting stitches in this book. The Star Stitch, the Double Star Stitch, the Wheat Sheaf and Shell Stitch, the Double Leviathan and the Triple Levithan stitchs and more.
Those were on just 2 pages of the over 100 pages of stitches, some common and some very much not common. There is a section on Bargello Needlepoint (of course) and a Needlepoint general instruction section.
As you may already know, I consider Margaret Boyles to be a Master Teacher of Needlepoint and Bargello Needlepoint. I learned Bargello from her books.
This is a First Printing hard cover book published by The Macmillan Company in New York and in London. there is no publication date in this book, but I assume it is the 1970's like her other books. it has 151 pages
New Needlepoint (book) is in very good condition with a few caveats. On the 2nd page of the inside cover someone wrote a gift message and signed it. IMO it is a somewhat snarky message but some people are just that way. It is dated 1977 which re-inforces my belief that this book was published in the 1970's.
The dust jacket is good, the book and inside pages are very good except for some slight yellowing around the edges of the pages. Not foxing, just yellowing from age. The spine is not perfectly tight. It is a stitched spine and there seems to be no danger of it coming apart of missing pages, just a bit looser then I might like.
