This book is an oddity. I thought about not listing it but then I thought I should. This may be the worst Needlepoint Reference book I have ever seen and that is saying something.
The graphs are simplistic and the B & W photos of the stitches stitched are incomprehensible. It is even hard to see what the fully stitched designs are in the small B & W pictures of them, They look like they were stitched by someone who has no control over tension and does not correct any errors as she stitches.
So, if you are thinking of doing a needlepoint stitch or reference book, buy this book and see what not to do.
There is a picture of the author sitting in one of those "stressless" chairs that were IT in the 70s. She has an "oh so knowing" look and and they describe her as a skilled needleworker. Ha!
Published in 1971 by Van Nostrand Reinhold who should have known better. This is a small hardbound book is good enough condition.
This might be the worst listing I ever wrote.
