With three authors, the book's info did not fit in my "title space".
It is: A Gardener's Book of Needlepoint by Jack Bodi, Meg Merrill and Catherine di Montezemolo.
Meg Merrill's name is the most familiar, she is the co-author of Nature in Needlepoint with Eva Brent.
This is a wonderful book, full of garden or flower based designs. In the last few years Kaffe Fassett has done a series of Needlepoint Kits for Erhman Tapestry based on Garden Vegetables, in close-up.
There are a few designs similar to that but that is not the bulk of the book's contents.
There are, in addition to a number of very fine flower and veggie designs, a complete alphabet done in flowers, fruits and veggies. Each "arm" of the letter is 2 inches wide and the graphs are full size, so they could be copied and used as is or adapted. There are a few Bargello based background suggestions in the back of the book, as well.
This is a truly unusual book, if you love both flowers, gardening & needlepoint (as I do) you will love this book.
This is a hardcover book published by Simon and Schuster in 1978. It features a intorduction by C.Z. Guest. a noted gardener.
A Gardener's Book of Needlepoint came without a dust jacket. The book seems to be in very good condition. The only thing I can see unusual is a slight lifting of the books "lining" 1/2 each along each side of the spine, on the front & back inside cover.
The spine, however, is very good. I am probably being a fuss-budget about this (I often am).
The pages inside are very good. the book looks and feels like it was rarely even opened.
