If your looking for Needlepoint talk, visit our blog and find interesting topics and helpful tips.
At first glance I did not know what this book was about, really. The title "Exotic Textiles in Needlepoint" did not make any sense. Then I read the subtitle " Designs from Around the World."
Hidden behind this misleading title is a wonderful book of "world design" for needlepoint by the well-known needlepoint teacher and author, Stella Knight.
The designs are organized by general areas of the world.
5 design from Asia
5 designs from The Middle East
5 design from Europe (3 of the medieval or Elizabethan)
4 designs from Africa
6 designs from North & South America
There is a small section of general stitching information and instruction and a few common stitches shown and graphed.
The designs and all the graphs are in full color, there is a stitched picture of each. These are some very beautiful and unusual designs.
This is an unusual and very interesting book.
Published Guild of Master Craftsmen in Sussex England in 2003. This is a glossy paperbound book with 118 pages.
This book is not new but it could be, it condition is excellent, brand new and barely every opened (except by me to skim through it).
