Well-known needlepoint author B. Bossuck has written this very nice book of projects based on traditional motifs and designs-Hebrew Alphabets, Bibical Themes, The Menorah, The Mogen David, the Emblems of the Twelve Tribes and more.
Most of the designs are shown in stitching graph form, a few of them are shown as line drawings.
The book is set up in sections.
Section 1-Star of David gives you basic instructions on stitching the Star of David as well as over all basics.
Section 2- Alphabets. This sections gives you the names and pronunciations of the Hebrew letters. There are 23 designs in this section including graphes of how to stitch the letters.
Section 3- Biblical Themes has 6 designs
Section 4- Antiquity has 11 designs and patterns
Section 5 is Contemporary. 8 designs influenced by modern design.
The end of the book is a stitch identification page and a few pages of tips & hints plus a bibliography.
There are 6 pages of color pictures, several to a page. The colors used in these designs are wonderful, the traditional blue and white and way beyond.
Published by Arco Publishing in 1979 this is a hard cover book with 128 pages.
The Star of David Needlepoint Book is in Very Good condition. The edges of the dust cover are worn and bent but it is intact. The book inside is very good, only slightly yellowed by age. The spine is tight.
