I snagged a copy of this for myself. Long & Short Embroidery is absolutely beautiful (as is L & S Needlepoint). It is used in Glorafilia designs and is is widely mentioned but there are scant or not complete directions for how to do it right.
The subtitle for Long & Short Embroidery is" A Collection of Flowers".
Each project or example (there are too many to do them all) has a close up stitched picture of the flower or flowers. Then a template drawing. The thread Key is done using DMC & Anchor Stranded Cottons
The direction that follow are precise and very detailed using 2-3 more pages. "Meticulous in detail, these flowers are brought to life by the use of of carefully selected threads and an intuitive use of simple stitches."
This technique and these directions are fully applicable for Needlepoint. All the stitched and technique pictures are in full color. There is an emphasis on shading, very clearly shown and taught.
A new glossy cover paperbound book with 128 Pages
This new book is part of the Milner Craft Series. First published by Sally Milner Publishing in Binda, Australia in 2006. This is the 3rd re-print.
