Subtitled "This Illustrated Introduction to Bargello Will Help You Create Fabulous Pillows, Rugs, belts and Wall hangings with Canvas and Yarn"
Peri Wolfman is (or was) the owner of 2 Needlepoint stores. She has written this comprehensive Beginner's Guide to Bargello Needlepoint.
The book includes many Bargello Stitches and the materials you ned. it begins with the basics.
The chapters are:
What Is Bargello
Materials
Basic Flame Stitch
Correcting Mistakes
Patchwork Sampler
Bargello Patterns
Geometric Patterns
All over Patterns
Borders
Un-Bargello (this one I have to look at)
Shaped Pillows
Blocking & finishing
Bargello Belt
Un-Bargello is, according to the author, when you use a Bargello Stitch on a painted canvas meant for Needlepoint. Or when you use bargello for the background etc. That means I have done a lot of Un-Bargello. Who knew?
This small book seems to have all you need to know to begin and succeed stitching Bargello Needlepoint. The pictures in this book are all B and W but the graphs are easy to read. They used differing strokes to draw them.
This is a small paperbound book with a glossy cover. Published in 1973 by Grosset and Dunlap in association with Parade magazine. It has 86 pages.
Bargello is Easy is in remarkable shape for it's age. The cover is yellowed & creased as are the pages inside. the spine is tight
The price on the cover is $1.95. I paid more for it than that on the wholesale used book market. I am not sure how rare it is or isn't.
