I know, I have many of these Silk Ribbon stitching books here in my web store, but in my own defense, these books have gorgeous projects, beautiful stitching.
If I could add another line of threads to NewNeedlepoint.com, it would be Silk Ribbons. I would love to kit with them, use them with other threads. Oh well......
Back to my subject. The flowers, made with Silk Ribbon, in this book are spectacular. There is quite a bit of technique here. The flowers have texture and depth. Many stand out from the fabric or canvas wonderfully.
These could be added to almost any needlepoint project, perhaps stitched over some background stitching or you could use some kind of Linen or Fabric for your project.
The book's instruction begin at the beginning (just where they should) showing you everything you need and need to know to do this.
Then there is a section of stitches for Silk Ribbon.
Then the flowers. 32 flowers are featured, each is shown stitched in full color. You are given complete and clear step-by-step directions as well as a list of materials needed.
Again, I use the word gorgeous. Wait until you see the Zantedeschia stems done in Silk Ribbon.
I don't think you need be an expert stitcher to use this book but it might not be right for a beginner.
A-Z of Silk Ribbon Flowers is a hard cover book published by Search Press in Tunbridge Wells, UK in 2009. It has 128 pages and a full index.
