If your looking for Needlepoint talk, visit our blog and find interesting topics and helpful tips.
Both Robin Atkins & Amy C. Clark are well-known names in the world of beading & fiber embellishment.
To quote (and paraphrase a bit) the back cover "Beaded Embellishment is an unparalleled resource for taking beading to higher levels. Beaders, quilters & fiber artists will find invaluable technique & inspiration here."
From reading that I thought that maybe this book was not for novice beaders as well as experienced but in skimming through the book, I see that it is indeed complete and for all levels of expertise.
The book begins with a short history of beading, then there is a section on getting started.
There are 4 basic beading stitches and a few variations. They are explained and diagrammed clearly. There is a section on Fringes & Edgings and a section on Finishing Techniques.
Then 10 interesting projects using bead stitching and stringing.
There is a chapter on Designing for Bead Embroidery, and an extensive Gallery of full color pictures. I really enjoyed looking at these.
Finally, a bibliography & Resources List and Full Index. I would not expect much of the Resources list to be active or current, however.
Originally published in 2002 by Interweave Press. This is a glossy cover paperbound book with 131 pages.
