If your looking for Needlepoint talk, visit our blog and find interesting topics and helpful tips.
Pat Trott is also the author of another stitchery book, Montmellick Embroidery, (which I just so happen to have listed here in my Other New Needlework Books category).
Her books are handsomely done and the techniques are clearly presented. Most of these designs are shown stitched on Aida or slightly open linen embroidery fabric. All of them are easily adaptable to needlepoint. (actually, not real adaptation needed).
Quoting (and paraphrasing) from the back cover
"A step-by-step guide to creating beautiful original embroideries (and needlepoints, I put that in) using an exciting selection of raised stitches & textured effects".
"Contains 17 versatile stitches".
"Explores different ways of combining stitches & colors".
. Looking through a book tells me a lot. The instructions are in full color, photographs of each step, clearly explained. The projects are not the usual that you might see in any book. There are some genuinely interesting ideas in here.
Just looking at the cover is inspiring.
This is funny, at the bottom of the back cover is says "A Practical Embroidery Book From Search Press". I agree.
Three Dimensional Embroidery Stitches is a glossy cover paperbound book. The page paper is heavy weight paper stock and the color printing is very bright & clean.
First published by Search Press in 2005, there have been several re-printings since then. This copy was printed in 2009. It has 64 pages.
