The Milner Craft Series of books from Jane Milner and published in Australia are very fine, good stitching books.
This book is Botanical Embroidery and it is a wonderful book, very beautiful flowers, Every flower and technique here is easily adapted for Needlepoint.
The book begins with the Essentials you will need. Then the projects:
Grevilla *RobynGordon*
Banksia Coccinea
Hakea Laurina
Telopea Speciossima
Telopea Truncata
Actinjotus Helianthi
Gossypium Sturtianum
Dendrobium Bibbbum
Three Grevillas
The following chapters are:
Design Guide
Stitch Guide
Needle Chart
Thread List
Thread-Needle-Stitch Summary
and an out-of-date list of suppliers.
The instructions seem quite complete, the stitches, the templates, all is here and well done. There are full color pictures of all the flowers, a few of the pictures show them finished & framed.
You will NOT find these gorgeous flowers in any of the flower stitching books you see all over the place. These are unique, I assume they are Australian Flowers and absolutely gorgeous.
These flowers, included in a floral stitching project, be it Needlepoint or Embroidery or a stand alone project of an flower. Any of these would be a show-stopper.
I took a chance ordering this book, sight unseen, to re-sell. I am glad I did. I am never disappointed by any of the Sally Milner Publications books.
This is a brand new hardcover book, first published in Australia in 1999 it does not say how many re-prints there have been however this is clearly a new book. Imported to the USA by Sterling Publishing. It has 80 pages
