I am often asked about books of lettering and monograms for stitchers. There are a few good ones out there but none as comprehensive as this one.
This is another of Graham Leslie McCallum's excellent sourcebooks containing 4000 Alphabets & Letters and including a CD with everything on it.
The book includes whole alphabets and elaborate initials (monograms) from Roman inscription to modern alphabets for graphic designers.
The book also has a visual explanation of the development of lettering from hieroglyphics to today's lettering which I found interesting.
The images can be copied, enlarged, traced or developed further, all copyright free.
This book is perfect for stitchers in almost any medium plus artists & designers (I am dying to say "the whole enchilada" but I will control myself). A full index, as well.
There are so very many variations in this book but no numbers.
Published inn 2009 by Batsford in the UK. This paperbound book is just over 1 inch thick and has 399 pages. it includes a CD with all the designs on it.
This book is now out of print and has become very hard to get so , of course, the price has gone up.
This copy is in excellent condition, almost new and the CD is in place (also excellent for a used book)
The picture is of mycurrent copy of this book
