This booklet by Kenneth J Goelzer is rare and then some. There were, at one time, a small series of these Diamonds in the Round Bargellos but I only occasionally come across one of them. This is a very rare book, especially in this condition.
The booklet is the cover design of a round bargello done in 8 way stitching. This is a variation of the 4-Way Bargello that we are all more familiar with. Or maybe I should call it an extension.
Kenneth Goelzer says 8-Way was developed as an off shoot of his12-Way Round The Clock Bargello. He says it is easier. As someone who has trouble with 4-Way I would suggest that this design is best for someone with both needlepoint and bargello needlepoint experience.
The design is presented in detail, the instructions are very complete and the graphs are 2/4 page size, making them easier to read.
The design is done in black and white but a full color picture of it is on the front cover. The back cover has color pictures of some of his other designs including this one done in another color way.
This is a matte cover paperbound booklet with 21 pages. Self-Published by KJG Enterprises. Copyright 1976.
Diamonds in the Round is in very good condition, not just for it's age but in all ways. The cover has very slightly worn edges, the pages inside are yellowed by age but otherwise the condition is, indeed, very good.
